Introduce myself

Hi all,

My name is YB, or Yellow for short. I'm going off my nickname now to provide some privacy due to my industry and its' sensitivity. Aside from that, I'm an avid gamer, beat-maker, father, and general IT nerd; stereotypes eh? lol.

I've been into social media for the greater part of over 10 years now and its crazy to look back at the changes we've endured (all for the best). Here we are now using Steemit to add value to our social experience. If you are like me, you are probably a bit peeved (pissed) at the fact that the giant social giants (Twitter, Facebook, Google, Apple) have been colluding in selling our private data and habits...... but they aren't to blame completely. I admit complicity in enabling them to use my data for profit, not taking into account the severity of a breach or mishandling of any sensitive data.

Until we all being the transition to decentralized social, i.e here and other platforms (even though I think this is the best so far), and we hurt their bottom line, we won't expect to see any reasonable changes in the social landscape. We are beholden to their whims until the power is taken back.

My hopes for this platform:

1. Availability of diverse opinions (political, economic, and social)
2. Enabling of collaboration in all aspects; the more connected we all are, the harder it is to separate us
3. Contribute to our sense of community.. We are all part of this great ball in the sky and here is a way for us to communicate without Zuck or others dictating the rules of discourse.
4. Fun! Lets share and spread the word and continue to grow the base.
