They Call Me Willow ... Wild Whiskey Willow :-)

What's up steemit?! This platform seems pretty cool - totally excited to check it out and get to know everyone! I'm a 34-year-old adventurer. I was born and raised outside of Philadelphia PA but decided to ditch the city life almost 6 years ago to explore the mountains of the west :-)

"Wild Whiskey Willow" started off as a nickname for me. Jokingly, a name to use should I ever find myself in a place where I would need to become a stripper :-) And let's face it... I'm wild and I LOVE whiskey (though I've recently been dabbling with periods of sobriety! Go me!). Anyway, stripper jokes aside, "Wild Whiskey Willow" has turned into much more than that. It has become the name of who I always wanted to be, the places I always wanted to go, and the lifestyle I always wanted to have: spontaneous, adventurous, positive & in the moment.

6 years ago I decided I'd stop dreaming about that lifestyle and start actually living it. I moved from the suburbs of Philadelphia to the mountains of Colorado and I've never looked back. If I'm not hiking, snowboarding, running or camping then I'm working, reading, writing, learning, or hanging with my rad 2-year-old son and awesome husband.

I mostly document my travels through my Instagram account (https://www.instagram.com/wildwhiskeywillow) and would really like to get my blog further off the ground (https://www.ileaveforaliving.com). I've traveled a lot over the years - to Africa, Europe, Mexico, Canada, Central America and all over the US. Most recently my family and I spent a year traveling around in our 1983 Minnie Winnebago RV, working online, and exploring this beautiful country we live in.

I joined steemit to share all my passions with anyone who has love or curiosity for the same things I do: Travel, adventure, writing, working online, fitness, health, self-care, self-improvement and much much more. I've gained an amazing life since I started working online - I now have the freedom to live life on my terms. I'd love to help anyone who is interested in learning to do the same thing! I'm full of advice on the topic.

To keep forging ahead on my path I always keep in mind that I wouldn't be where I am now if I listened to all the naysayers that exist out there - you have to decide what you want, put your blinders on and go after it. Then don't stop until you get there. I'll leave you with this:
