16 year old son says......Dad, we should invest in Bit Coin.....Next thing you know, I found Steemit.
I'm absolutely mesmerized by this community! I will be the first to admit that I'm a 41 year old, out of touch father of four that is trying to keep up with an ever changing world. The Internet of Things, Block Chains, and most every other topic that one comes across when they start learning about Cryptocurrency scared the hell out of me! It all started about 6 months ago when my son Tristan comes home from school and is going on and on about Bit Coin, which (like many mainstream working class people) I thought was a fad or a scam. But this young man is very smart so we started doing some research on it. Well the next thing you know, I'm learning about Bitcoin, then Blockchain, then Etherium, then I start subscribing to newsletters on cryptocurrency and the next thing you know, I found Steemit.
I will be the first to I'm moderately intimidated but very excited to be here.

That's a very interesting story! Yes, we have all been there, facing a gamut of emotions before making that first investment but no risk, no gain! Good to have aboard here and I hope your stay will be a good one. Incidentally, I have only earlier today penned down my own bitcoin story and how I took to it - you can read it from my profile. Welcome to Steemit! Not many people in their 40's and above are willing to adapt or try something new, I know I have tried to convince my dad for sometime. I begged him to invest this summer, but great to see you are tackling it!
