Let's Get Started
The Beginning...
A great philosopher, Plato once said that "The beginning is the most important part of the work." Yes, it truly is. I have been introduced to Steemit a long time ago but I didn't begin until this moment that I am writing my First Steemit Post (FSP). About 5 months ago, @mediahousent told me about this platform, urged me to join but I refused to. Not until recently, when a Steemit Conference was organised in Ile Ife, Osun State, Nigeria by @leadent360 which was convened by @ehiboss motivated me and spring up my desire to be a member of the community. It was at this time that I read and understood what steemit is all about.

Who am I?
My name is AKINLOTAN OLUSEYI WILLIAMS. I'm a graduate of English and Literary Studies at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, Osun State, Nigeria. I'm also a blogger and writer. I'm fondly called Willy even though I'm richly blessed with lot of nicknames (smiles). I have nicks for different areas of my life. My family members call me 'Bansey", in the blogsphere I'm being referred to as "OWB", my friends and colleagues call me "Willy Boie", while my colleagues in High School call me "Sugary". LOL.
I love everything that has to do with Fashion, Relationship and Sports. I have a section on my blog where I feature young and upcoming models, photographers, artistes etc, it's a way to showcase them and make the world know about them and their works. In the same vein, I run a relationship discussion tagged 'OWB Weekend Relationship Gist" on my blog's WhatsApp group where we discuss pressing issues relating to love, sex and relationship. I'm a lover of Manchester United, the Red Devils (winks).
Conclusively, it's great to be here. It's great to be a Steemian. I'm happy to be a member of Steemit. Great thanks to @mediahousent @ehiboss @leadent360.

I know that steemit may seem very overwhelming to you right now but don't worry. There's a learning curve to everything so just be patient and you'll be churning out posts and becoming a part of something great in no time!

I will also be creating a basic starting out guide for all minnows and newcomers on my blog so do give it a read as that might help answer many of your questions!

Upvoted on behalf of @thehumanbot and it's allies. Write less but write great original content, which is the key to success in Steemit. If you are using any image or video, cite proper source. Even if its your own image or video, it's worth mention the same.

My curation focus is on fairly new Steemit users who don't speak English as a first or primary language, but who are writing and posting in English.
I search new posts in the #introducemyself and #introduceyourself tags daily, and try to dedicate at least 50% of my article curation to new Steemit members who meet the above focus criteria. My goal is to discover and curate an average of 5 new Steemit users per day.
I follow each person I curate because it is very encouraging for a new member to see their following grow.
25% of my daily curation is dedicated to upvoting, resteeming and commenting on new articles posted by the Steemit users I am following. If you have written an article that you think is particularly good, you can direct message me a link to it in Steemit.chat (look at the bottom of the Steemit menu for the chat link.)
I also curate comments from all Steemit users. I look to reward comments and replies which stand out as having thoughtful insight, offer benefit to the community at large and reflect the unique personality of the commenter.
I aim to keep my voting strength between 90-100%, and give a 100% upvote whenever possible, voting 10-15 times per day.

@originalworks also hosts a weekly writing contest, so follow @originalworks if you are interested in practicing your writing skill, and possibly earning some extra Steem.
