Yes, I've seen the hate comments on YouTube - people can be so cruel. If you don't like it, don't watch it - my attitude.
Unfortunately, resteeming only lets more people see the post, it doesn't reset your time. Whaleshares (just starting) seems to give you 14 days instead. A lot of people are crossposting there and here now - great time to get started there as well!

Yes, Discord has chat rooms plus instant messaging in general. You'll occasionally see invites lying around Steemit. :-)
