TravelersWarden - Joining Steemit

What's shakin' bacons!

I'm Kim; online I go by TravelersWarden. I have a Twitch and a YouTube channel where I do movie reviews, gaming, talk about Star Wars stuff, and geek out over travelers notebooks because I have a serious thing for lists and organizing to give myself a semblance of control over my life. 😅

A little about me IRL:
→My full time job is an I.T. specialist
→My undergraduate degree is English Literature, specialty focus on Science Fiction
→I live in New England
→I have two cats: Sir Champion Floofypants and Miss Gingerbread Cookie. Both like to show up randomly in my videos and I'm 99% sure I have everyone on YouTube convinced that they are Porgs. 99% sure. Mostly sure.

I'd heard about Steemit and D.Tube as places where people can express themselves more thoroughly without the restrictions of the YouTube / Twitch systems and was intrigued, keeping an eye on it but not yet finding the time to learn more due to my streaming schedule/full time job/YouTube creations/etc.

I finally applied for an account after I recently attempted to film a reaction video to the new "Solo: A Star Wars Story" trailer on YouTube and NBC claimed it for copyright and monetization, even though my channel isn't monetized and other, "big" YouTubers had no claims against their Solo trailer reactions. To my disbelief, NBC had actually claimed part of my video where it was just me talking - no Star Wars content anywhere! That was the last straw.

There are so many changes to major streaming and creation sites these days that I decided I had finally had enough and signed up for Steemit to join a community of people like myself who are tired of constantly having the rug pulled out from under our feet. I'm looking forward to participating in the community here and getting to experience a different kind of social platforming, creation, and idea exploration.
