I should probably edit that into the article. I've been a crypto junkie since 2013, so I like to lurk the usual places now a days. I heard people talk about steemit (mostly on the "MAKE MONEY LUL!" side of things) and put steemit into the back of my mind. Looking through crypto news I started to run into steemit articles which lended legitimacy to the platform. So I did a little research into it, and it looked a lot less shady than just a "make money" platform, and it looked like a cool social media alternative (me not being one for Facebook). Still in the back burner of my mind, today @davidpakman uploaded a video about steemit (after a few others from him in the past) and being reminded of it again, that kinda sealed the deal
