Laws are only ink in paper, there must be a link between the law and the individual, if that link is moral, then the effectiveness of the law disposition depends on your will to fulfill it, there is an ethical motivation to do what law commands. However in modern state, laws requiere that moral element to be fair but it's effectiveness comes from the posibility of law enforcement, which means that even if you don't agree with the law, there are mechanisms designed to force you to comply. You and your friends can create your own law anytime, it is called a contract, and if it meets certain requirements you can use the public force to execute that contract against your friends.
