I've been in education for fifteen years. The landscape has definitely changed over that time period and will continue to do so, I fear. I have always worked with students who have a harder time being successful in school. I've found that a solid relationship is the key to managing a class. When they have that trust and relationship they respect you because that is returned to them. When you need, you can use that relationship to leverage a situation that could otherwise go wrong. I often have to use the relationship that I have built to intervene on the behalf of others who don't have the same relationship-focus as I do. Welcome!
