The dark times of steemit were still better than other places just dark for here.
Most of them revolve around people going nuts with flagging, and very powerful accounts flagging people down to $0 on almost everything they write and them getting vocal about it. I don't expect this to go away. It will cycle through again as we haven't found a workable solution to that problem which won't open the door to further exploits. We have some experiments that might work, but I doubt they have plans to try any of them.
So there are dark periods. Yet, even when it is dark here it is still lighter than say Facebook, Reddit, youtube comments, etc.
I heard certain people have a lot of emotional attachment to the word FREEDOM :P. Think about it. If I were to go to the States and say "Freedom is useless", I would certainly get in a physical fight
You likely wouldn't get into a physical fight unless you said it in a bar with drunk people. Most people here these days are fairly cowardly. You might get some verbal abuse, or someone giving you an angry gesture.
Freedom is useless if you don't do anything with it. :)
Also we've been conditioned in this country. We are far from free. Just look at our prison population and our rooms and rooms filled with different laws.
"Go back to bed America, your government is in control again... Here! Here is American Gladiators, watch this! Shut up! Go back to bed America, here is American Gladiators, here is 56 Channels of it! Watch these pituitary retards bang their fudging skulls together and congratulate you on living in the land of freedom. Here you go America! You are free to do as we tell you!"
I loved American Gladiators as a kid. It aired a lot on German TV :3
Yeah haha
At the end of the day if you enjoy a rant or rabble or anything you just talk about because you are bored then there will always be someone to read and reply. So far im enjoying it and i didnt think that i would be one for writing blogs.
same, I hated writing at school. But engaging in these discussions with all those great people you cant help, but find interesting topics to write about.
Hello Tobias, welcome to the platform. You are right, there's nothing wrong in disclosing your identity as long as its on steemit. You made the right decision, steemit is an amazing platform and Im sure you'll going to have fun here.
When I first joined Steemit I planned on being anonymous, even blacking out my face in my profile picture (Because you know the feds taking pictures) but decided to go public and reveal my identity in a later post. Just saying this to let you know you're not alone brother.

I think communities can be a key to prevent that. You know where the word communism comes from? :3
Oh yes I know the base word. It makes it FEEL good. Because it FEELS good doesn't mean it is good. ;)

I would argue that "you are free to do as we tell you"
