Hi guys, I'm Jamzy and this is my introduction post!

Hello Steemit,

My name is Yamin (call me Jamzy) and I am a student at Imperial College London. I just wanted to say that I am very excited to be a part of this vibrant community finally! I opened this account some time ago but only recently had enough time to actually start posting. I will be posting more regularly here from now on.

When I'm not at university I spend most of my time in East London, which is obviously the best part of London, no discussion! London is a great place and there's always a ton of interesting things happening and I will be sharing some of these things going forwards. Hopefully you can find some cool things about London that you didn't know before.

This is a picture I took at a community garden in East London and I will be posting about it some more in the coming weeks. It's a great place where creative people meet and hang out, make art and talk about all kinds of things.

I studied theoretical physics at undergraduate and master degree level and now I'm doing a PhD in Fluid Dynamics. Although I have a theoretical background nowadays I am more interested in applied mathematics and even engineering, particularly Fluid Dynamics. So I guess you may consider me as some kind of nerd but I really look at myself as a regular guy!

I was born in Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Oblast (GBAO), which is located in Tajikistan. I grew up there during a civil war, to which I was oblivious since I was just a kid. I loved every minute of my childhood. Although one of the poorest countries in the world with a sketchy political climate (to say the least) the natural beauty of Tajikistan is unparalleled. The hospitality of its people is second to none and the cuisine is simply delightful. Have a look at some pictures of my country of birth:

This is in the capital city Dushanbe, which in the summer is unbearably hot with an average temperature of 36 degree centigrade.

But like I already mentioned I am from GBAO also know as Pamir, taking it's name from the Pamir mountain range, which is a large range with a high elevation above sea level in the east of Tajikistan. See for yourself:

These are pictures from the Wakhan Valley which is the south east of Tajikistan and borders with Afghanistan. It truly is a beautiful valley with many ancient fortresses and a lot of folklore. If it all gets too much for you you can just take a dip in an ice cold mountain stream. Good glacial waters:

Anyway, if you ever get a chance to go you should absolutely grab that chance with both hands! Trust me, you will never forget it. Especially if you go to Pamir.

In the future I will be hoping to post loads more stuff on London, Physics, Tajikistan and everything else in-between, including recipes (I’m not bad in the kitchen you know). Follow me to keep up to date and get some good recipes as well! I will be actively trying to improve the quality of my content going forward.
