Introducing Steemhouse Publishing

What if the world had a publishing house where the “gatekeepers” offer help and encouragement, not just form rejection letters? An ecosystem where authors can participate as editors? Where everyone involved can become investors? What if hopeful writers could speak one on one with publishing house staff? Get feedback on their work? Learn how to make it publishable? Learn how to write what sells? What if “real people” could have access to the same publishing and promotional resources as most top authors in the industry and still collect up to forty percent of royalties after the publisher’s cut?

Steemhouse Publishing founders have heard the frustration expressed by authors, editors, agents, and even readers about the difficulties faced in bringing new, high quality fiction to market.

We believe the old model is imperfect, and that there is a better way. When we began to explore alternatives to the nearly impossible gauntlet highly talented authors face in getting exposure and compensation for their work, we saw that it could be done. Not only that, but we could offer them more access to professional marketing, as well as coaching that helps them to improve their craft, and still run a profitable publishing company.

Steemhouse Publishing is an independent book publisher with a focus on quality fiction. We’re also a thriving online community of writers, editors, and skilled creatives capable of mentoring authors from their very first attempt at fiction all the way to publication. Our roots are right here in the Steem community. We intend to become committed investors here and to teach the authors we onboard about the benefits of investing in this cryptocurrency.

We have a stellar lineup of staff and administration for this new venture. Currently a dozen writers, editors, and seasoned community leaders are working together to launch our first novel. We have four integral board members who speak every day and keep their fingers on the pulse on cryptocurrency markets, the mainstream publishing industry, and the major Steem communities.

@rhondak is the CEO of Steemhouse Publishing and brings more than twenty years of writing, editing, and indie publishing experience to the table. Her novel “Talking to Luke” was a top-twenty bestseller in its category in 2016. She published a second novel in 2017 and her latest one, “High Kill,” is set for release in May of this year under a Steemhouse imprint.

@michelios is the Operations Manager for all three points of the Steemhouse ecosystem: the publishing house, the online community, and the literary journal. He comes to us with years of experience trading and investing cryptocurrency. He is knowledgeable about market conditions and will be managing the Steemhouse portfolio. He has a background in system administration and programming, with a strong interest in open source development. In addition, he’s a strong developmental editor in both his native French and in English.

@shadowspub is co-admin of the Steemhouse Community on Discord and a prominent personality in the greater Steem community. She’s a member of the Steem Alliance, founder of The Ramble, and host of Pimp Your Post Thursdays, one of the longest-running and widely attended live streaming shows on Discord. She hosts a monthly witness forum that features many top witnesses from the Steem blockchain. Shadowspub also has experience writing and editing nonfiction, and her recent forays into the world of fiction have exposed her skills as an impressive minimalist.

@tanglebranch is the Steemhouse workshop leader and our managing senior editor. Her vibrant personality and sense of humor liven up the online community and inspire many to participate in the group and hone their writing skills. She has years of experience in creative writing and is currently working on her first novel.

Yaaaayyyyy!!! Finally!!

So cool to see this up and running.

I keep meaning to try my hand at fiction, knowing there’s an entire community to learn from.

But I keep hesitating from going to that edge.

Soon though...

What would you think about easing into it with some flash fiction? 500 words or fewer--something along those lines? We could do it as a group.

The best of luck in your endeavors!

Remember that famous lyric, from Guns and Roses... "I just found a million dollars, someone forgot"

You stand up, take hands, and promote (lift dare I say) others... isn't that what we are supposed to do anyway? This is, in my opinion, something really interesting, so long as we remember, the ambiance, of holding that book, feeling its pages, and smelling that "book smell"...

Look forward to seeing future content!

So excited to see you all are doing this!

Love the post, and it's so nice to see your faces! Onward and upward!

Seems to be a great bunch of people. I wish you every success and I will try my hand at fiction once I run out of true stories
