The importance of family

How great was it for you to grow up in a house full of love. Parents who loved each other, having a brother or a sister, or even more siblings? Ok..... we know siblings don’t get along all the time but growing older and being more mature makes you realize that all of the fighting etc. was needed to be who you are today.

For me, it was, is and will be in future.

We are 3 kids, 2 brothers and a sister. We had a lovely childhood growing up together, age difference between us only 3 years. We could play together, work together and most of all love together.
Our parents really never showed a favourite. To them, as it should be, we were all their children, their pride and joy!! They bragged about us at family gatherings about a milestone we reached, or for receiving an award at the prizegiving, whether it was for academics or sport.

Our family loves sport, my 2 brothers loved their highschool athletics, rugby and cricket. My dad being an umpire, could always be there for his boys watching and motivating at the same time.

My mom, never really had to work as the work my dad was in was enough to provide for the whole household. My mom was and is still our go-to-girl. If you needed anything, mommy was the one to ask, because she was the only one who knew how to persuade dad to giving in. We were taught to always be humble, never to think that you are better than anyone. Always give your best, always give more than what was expected.

Now, being adults, married and having our own children, I want to thank my parents for showing us and teaching us all about life and love.

If it wasn’t for their example set, none of us would be where we are today.

My dad was recently retrenched, a sad day as it would be for anyone. Not knowing what was going to happen further, he never once sat and said that this is it..... my life is done my life is through. He never complained, his vision in life is something that I will always treasure. He got back up on his feet, applied for work and got the news today that he got a permanent job again. My dad is not someone who will do nothing during the day, he works hard to provide for his family. Always have and always will.

Thank you mom and dad, for raising us to the best of your ability.
Thank you for never losing hope in any of your children, always supporting and we can see it now with your grandkids too.
