My Life, My goals, My introduction

Hey Everybody,

My name is Simon and typically I don't come out from my lurking hole too often but this place seems very welcoming so why not. I grew up in a small, cold, but very friendly country of New Zealand and though I loved it greatly I decided to move to it's warmer big brother, Australia.

The weather is amazing here and has provided me with lots of opportunity to further my career and life ambitions. After making a few too many bad investments, from choice of women to real estate, I find myself at 38 in a not so financially secure place and wondering about the future. That's what got me interested in bitcoin and cryptocurrency in the first place. I am what I classify as tech -curious, where I like to play around with things but never really become an expert or advanced in anything. I am not sure if it s because of the long work hours where I don't have much left at the end of the day or because I might suffer from some undiagnosed learning difficulty. Judging by my school grades probably the latter. Even as I write this, every few sentences or so, I flick back to one of the 20 tabs I have open lol.

This brings me to now and after travelling abroad in south east Asia for a few weeks back in 2015 I quickly realised that although I am far far from "rich" or even wealthy, what does that even mean, I feel the only real way to experience true happiness and joy is by giving backing and helping the less fortunate. I spent some time and money with these beautiful orphans in Thailand (going back in July to do it again) and I have never felt so happy and proud to be part of the solution... However this leads me into my next conundrum... how could I scale this to help as many as possible, with sustainability in mind. I am not some uber rich guy that can through money at the situation but there must be some way to help more...

Anyway, as I ponder life's worries, I am greeted to an awesome new social platform that I can't wait to get more involved in.
