CALLING ALL WOMEN, ESPECIALLY FEMINISTS. I know it's been awhile since my last post - over a week now. What can I say - life is busy. But just because I haven't posted, doesn't mean my mind hasn't been busy, busy planning for today's topic and a number of others to come.

So when did I learn this lesson? I would guess it was back when I was a child watching my Mother head off to the night shift as a nurse. I was always so proud of her and the idea of a woman's place is in the home was never a part of our life, although she was a wonderful wife, mother and homemaker. As I ventured out into the work place, I was initially employed in what would be considered - woman's work!!! Everything from a waitress, working on an assembly line followed by a long line of secretarial jobs. But, then the time came when my hard work and "smarts" (I like to think) led me to climb the corporate ladder and enter into a Managerial position in a company where that seldom happened and there I stayed for 12 years.

From there I ventured out to start a business and failed miserably!! Hard to admit but true. I tried to introduce a way to take the selling of Real Estate into a whole new direction. The problem was it was about 15 years too early.

That was what led me to search out an answer to my problems in all the wrong places - until one day I found myself in a Salvation Army Church. Low and behold, the preacher that day was a "woman". Being a true "woman's liber" at the time, I felt this was where I was going to find my answers. I know that many of you may feel that religion is anti-women but what I learned was Jesus, himself was very pro-women. Matter of fact, many of his closest followers were women. In a day and age when this was unusual and frowned upon - He changed the conversation. The founders of The Salvation Army "William and Catherine Booth" back in 1865 were ahead of the curve and Catherine became a role model for all women - in her day and today. My husband and I not only found the answers we needed, we became full-time pastors in this wonderful organization where women stand alongside their husbands in every leadership position available. Matter of fact, there have been a number of single women who have filled the position of General (that is the International Leader of The Salvation Army).

So that was the Lesson I learned - BUT - there's more. The book cover you'll see below, "Hiding in the Light" - is a true story of a young woman's courageous decision to leave Islam and follow Jesus - no matter the cost. And believe me - the cost has been enormous. She recounts in riveting detail the events leading up to her decision to leave home and the chain of events that followed. Her story brought me to a place of wondering why I don't hear more about this abuse of women from those who claim to be supporters of "Women's Rights".

After reading Rafqua's story, I was also reminded of a short video message from PragerU entitled "Why Don't Feminists Fight for Muslim Women" so I found it again and am attaching it to this post. It's only 5 minutes and well worth the time.

I am calling "All Women - especially Feminists" - to start putting their voices and their protests and their influence to work for these women. The religion of Islam is growing in leaps and bounds which only means there will be more and more women abused, controlled and in danger all over the world. They need our help - they need you - they need me - they need Christ.

I hope you will not let my sharing my faith keep you from hearing this young woman's courageous decision to leave Islam and follow Jesus - no matter the cost. In Hiding in the Light, Rifqa Bary shares in riveting detail her journey - and what a journey it has been - and still is.

Although she still lives in hiding - she shares it is actually "Hiding in the Light"

@creatr

why use his tag for this post? don't get it ........

Thanks for pointing it out - I made a mistake and will correct right away.

I agree. No one seems to understand what these women go through. I volunteered for a while with a group of former Muslim Christian women, and there life if just as you said. some of them don't even let their families know they have become Christians.
