FYI - check out Steemit.chat , it's a good way for newbies to connect. Commenting on other people's posts is one way to get involved in the community, but in Steemit.chat you can find people with similar interests and interact a bit more personally. Some of the rooms encourage people to share links to their posts too so you can get even more exposure!
