Can my vote substract the $ amount on "Pending Payout"? (I'm new)

I'm new to Steemit. I was checking some cool posts from the trending section. I clicked a post that I considered was very interesting. When I was going to upvote it, the post had 404.39$. But when I clicked "upvoted", the amount went down to 404.37$. SO, is my vote really substracting????
