Travel Gem #1: SILENCE - Wander to the wilderness desert where there is no wifi
Today we live in cities where we are drowned by noise and information overload. There is no time to be quiet. We will suffocate and die without our mobile phones. Messages come in every minute via different apps and message alerts. We like to be on top of everything and make believe that we are updated with all the news in the world.
When you travel, make it you goal to go to the desert and experience 'SILENCE'! This is the place where you are finally in tune to yourself and know your most updated status in life!
In coming days, I will share with you about Desert Traveling.
Today's Desert Gem: You are ALONE but never LONELY!
- When you are alone, your mind settles down.
- Some steps need to be taken to get to that place where you can focus.
- Step out to the desert for one day so that you are not distracted by all the lights and shimmering gadgets of the world.
- Know that your family and friends are not going to die on you today. They are alright. Just be alone.
- You are not lost just because you choose to disappear for one day.
- We should take out 1 day to do this every month! This is not asking too much, is it?
Here we are in the Wilderness of Zin in Israel where we spent a few days.
Most of us, when we think of desert, we think of camels, lizards and snakes.
Look: The Desert is barren, dry, hot and SILENT!
Look at the SILENCE!
This is awesome.
We took with us lots of WATER so that we don't get dehydrated.
This desert has hills and mountains and we try to walk into the shades.
No one is here!
Just us!
We come back here again the next day!
Externally - It is the same scenery, same color, lots of rocks, hot and nothing new from yesterday!
Internally - Lots of new reflections!
Very REFRESHING indeed when we enter into the SILENCE of the desert!
We watch the sun coming down again the next day. Yay!
Plan a day to go into the wilderness and enjoy the silence!
Start this month.
Go for another day next month.
Your life is going to change.
You begin to really live.

Would really once stay in a desert over night in a oriental tent. That would be awesome! Few days just in the middle of nothingness! No wifi, no electronics. But yea, tons of water and food :D :D :D
