Who we are?

Ben and Madlen from Dortmund, Germany. We both are art directors for different web design companies and full-time employees.

Nevertheless, or maybe because of that, we travel frequently. We are drawn to the distance as often as possible and no journey goes by without the next plans being forged again. And since we have a lot of exciting stories to tell, we started our blog ronnyrakete.de! The name can be translated as Ronny Rocket 🚀

So far, we write in German, but it is only a matter of time until we begin to provide the content in English.

We love road trips, camping, hiking, snorkeling and much more. City trips are just as exciting as living in nature for two weeks. We prefer to travel by car or van through foreign countries and explore remote corners.

Packed with a backpack and a tent, we simply sleep wherever we are allowed to. We are not the kind of guys who like all-inclusive vacations. You will find so rather less hotel reviews in our blog, but individual itineraries and campsite recommendations.

1. Motivation & Inspiration

With our blog we want to inspire and motivate you to travel as much as possible despite a full-time job. Because it is absolutely possible to discover the world without immediately quitting the job. We always try to get the most out of our free time and to consciously enjoy life. We want to show you ways to break out of your everyday life and to experience a lot with a few days off.

2. Tips for road trips & camping

If you prefer to sleep under a starry sky instead of a 5-star hotel, you're in the right place. Our trips are completely free and independent. We live in a tent or in a van and never stay in one place for long, but drive all over the country and discover the best places. We'll tell you our road trip stories, tell you our camping road trip adventure pack list, and give you tips for your first road trip planning.

3. Tips for city trips

_{Madlen's birthday present for me was a trip to lovely Madrid, Spain. And we visited the dcode festival where we could listen to The Kooks, Liam Gallagher and many more.}

We also like to stay in unknown cities and try to immerse ourselves in local life. We explore every corner of the city, taste the local food and drink beer with locals. All these impressions we prepare for you and give you our best tips. For example, how about a weekend on a houseboat in Amsterdam, or a trip to fantastic Lyon?
