The Good Shepherd

A shepherd is a person who tends sheep.
He is someone who watches over, looks after or guides somebody.
A shepherd is the pastor of a church; one wko guides others in religion.
A good shepherd is a person that is diligent in looking after, watching or guiding someone.
Some examples of a good shepherd are;
Firstly, David: He was so good at tending the flock that King Saul recognised him and called him to be with him always. 1Samuel 16:19.
Though he was always before Saul, he was still very diligent in taking care of the father's flock. The bible says he returned from Saul to feed his father's sheep at Bethlehem.1Samuel 17:15. As he qas giing about tending the flock, dangerous animals like lions, bear and others came to prey on the sheep. He defended them( the flock) and the the predators.1Samuel17:33-36. He didn't abadone the flock because of attack from lions and bear. He was there for them even in the face of danger.
A second example of a good shepherd is Jesus. John 10:10.
A good shepherd is a pastor that has the mind of Jesus Christ. You are not there because of what you would gain. You cannot have the mind of Jesus when you don't have Jesus. The greatest gift or reward is Salvation. That is why Jesus explained in John 10:9, that anyone that enters not into the sheepfold through the "door" is a thief and a robber but anyone that enters through the door is the shepherd of the sheep.
The door is Jesus (John10:9). As a pastor, what role do you play to ensure that your members are truly save. Are you the type that want huge crowd and don' t care if their souls are saved; takes what belong to members not even minding how they get it. You are after their tithes and offerings not minding the type of business they are into. Such people abandone thier members in times of challenges (John 10:12-13)
Jesus declared in John 10:11 that the good shepherd should be ready to lay down his life for his sheep.

WHAT KIND OF SHEPHERD ARE YOU, THE THEIF AND A ROBBER OR YOU ARE THE GOOD SHEPHERD?
