Lalan River itself can be accessed by land, ie from the center of the capital District Bayung Lencir. Lalan River can also be reached by sea travel (river) from Palembang City, for approximately 1.5 hours drive.

Formerly, the forest along the River Lalan many overgrown with various types of trees. However, lately large trees are increasingly difficult to find due to rampant illegal logging, and forest clearance for transmigration programs.
