A Regular Nigerian New Year

in #introduceyourself9 years ago (edited)

As a Nigerian Christian, it has become tradition, sort of a ritual even for new year eves to be celebrated in church.

These events are tagged "crossovers". It's very typical over here.
Well, I am one. Paul Gamsam's the name. And I am from Nigeria.
Well, the 31st morning started like any other morning. Cold and fog filled.
Went to a funfair with the family and had a great time.

Also visited a lot of people after that which is quite a normal thing for my family during the holidays. And trust me, the visits are so much you'll get tired of them. So yes, I was tired after that.
It was time for the awaited "crossover". Headed to church and crossed over into 2018 with lot of friends and loved ones. It was joyous indeed, a shame I have no pictures.
Also, we are usually big on fireworks over here. It's just a pity we couldn't have any due to the security problems here.
