My name is Tani Thompson and I am a costume designer. My favorite thing about designing is the photo shoots. I build the product, do the hair and make-up and the art direction. Before this I was a make-up artist working in L.A.. It was the 80’s. Back then my apartment was a half block from the ocean in Venice Beach California. I lived in my rollerskates and if I wasn't cruising the boardwalk, I was playing hacky sack with friends or boogie boarding down at the Jetty. I had a bright yellow Walkman. I loved the Ramones, Blondie, Duran Duran and Madness. I knew all the lyrics to the B-52’s first Album. I listened to KROQ and LOVELINE with Dr. Drew. I lived for music, fashion and Art.

In “2000” I sat down at a sewing machine and for the past eighteen years I have run the gamut of thing you can build with spandex! Spandex is my medium. I love it! If it’s made with spandex, I have built it! Over the past eighteen years I have built thousands of custom orders that help me master the art of a perfect fit. My niches are as follows, Rave wear, Exotic wear, Swimwear, Pinup, Bodycon and Cosplay and Burning Man.

This shoot was a gift that kept on giving. Thank you Shannon Brooke and Sabina Kelley. I recreated the 1959 Barbie Swimsuit with Chevron Stripes and it was a huge hit! It was just luck that it ended up on Sabin and was shot by Shannon.

My mission as a designer is to provide the necessary garb for those who understand that life is partly Theater, as it should be… Self expression feeds the soul.

These days I reside in Portland Oregon. I live a pretty minimalist lifestyle. I’m debt free for the first time in a long time and I’m building wealth through cryptocurrency.

I have a travel bug in me, lots of stamps in my passport and lots of stories about my adventures, so I was thrilled to find Steemit because it seemed like a wonderful place to share my stories and make some friends.
