Retired partywalrus would probably be more accurate, but I found that name to be rather anticlimactic. These are my weird interests, and this is how I got into the world of crypto and blockchain:

Hi, I’m partywalrus. Retired partywalrus would probably be more accurate, but I found that name to be rather anticlimactic. As the name indicates I am/used to be very fond of parties. Raves and forest parties in particular. This was actually one of the most important factors leading to me getting into crypto at first, which is kinda funny. Destiny is odd.. When I go down to detail analyzing all the choices I’ve made which has directly or indirectly led to me being who and where I am today I have to say that I’m very thankful for everything that has happened, good and bad, and where this bumpy road has led me.

I heard about Steemit about a year ago. My friend @xtetrahedron told me about it. He is the first person I started talking bitcoin and crypto with, and we got to know each other through forest psytrance parties in the Norwegian woods. Very underground stuff. What led me to these forest parties in the first place was most likely my curiosity of various chemical compounds and the altered state of mind, which again was a result of me failing at elementary school and getting accepted into a controversial high school where substance abuse and "not giving a fuck" was the norm.

I am a firm believer in blockchain and decentralized technology, as I believe it will make the world a better place. I can see it break down borders and decentralize authority in the future, something I believe is detrimental to the pursuit of world peace and unity amongst all sentient life forms on earth. I once heard a very interesting take on the evolution of life and how it made a leap from single cells to multicellular animals. The single cells first got together and formed organisms. Then those organisms got together and gradually designed more advanced lifeform. Then those lifeforms started to evolve into sentient beings. Eventually it all culminated in the creation mankind; the most advanced species to ever have walked the earth, and a whole new level of consciousness was born. Now our “job” is to interconnect with each other and cooperate just like those single cells and organisms did to get us to where we are today. The goal is to connect all of mankind, and in a coerced effort we will lift ourselves up to even higher level of consciousness. Another block on the evolutionary blockchain if you’d like.

Internet technology was the beginning of this, but true interconnectivity amongst humanity has not yet occured. To truly connect with someone we need to be able to trust them in order to drop our guards and open up. This is extremely personal, and we’re all very fragile in that sense. It takes a lifetime to build a reputation. And just one day to ruin it. Humanity have suffered from trust issues from the break of dawn, something I believe to be the root to most of our suffering. The more insecure we are with the people around us, the stronger the need to be in control is. This has over the years led to prosecution and burning of witches, crucifixion and beheading of spiritual leaders and religious crusades. It is the reason why some people support the idea of flying airplanes loaded with several billions worth of destruction across entire continents to the opposite side of the planet and decimate entire countries. “If we don’t strike them first, they will strike us in the future” is the disastrous mentality that arises from the lack of trust. Fortunately for us all, we’re now entering a new era. The era of the blockchain. An era where we can trust each other with utmost confidence. An era where all of us will be held accountable for our actions. An era of transparency. And ultimately; an era of transcendence.

As I mentioned earlier, I find the altered state of mind very fascinating. I would have used psychedelics regularly as a tool to achieve introspective insights and personal growth, if it wasn’t for the legal status (nobody ever breaks the law, right..?), and I would probably have found the effects to be profound in terms of creativity, gratitude, energy and general well-being. I am very active in the medical marihuana debate, particularly on the topic of CBD; one of the major compounds found in the cannabis plant. Its medical potential is unrivaled and it does not induce a high. If you’ve never heard of this I strongly advise you to check it out. Odds are you or someone you know would have great use of this. I will post an article about CBD on a later point. Until then:

I’m also a practitioner of the Wim Hof method which revolves around breathwork, meditation, yoga and cold exposure. Truly fascinating stuff with enormous potential in terms of both physical and mental health. Here is how it works:

Graphic design is a hobby of mine which I’d like to talk more about, but this introduction post turned out to be way longer than intended, and most of you reading this are probably about to fall asleep right now. If you’re still there, I’d like to thank you for your attention :-)

PS. I’m working on a piece which involves cops, drugs that aren’t really drugs and crypto security. It will be out in a couple of days. Hopefully it will be an entertaining and educational read. If you don’t want to miss out, please hit that “Follow”. Steemit is new to me, and having a few followers would be motivating and make me very happy! “Blogging” is also new to me, and constructive criticism is very much appreciated. https://steemit.com/@partywalrus

Welcome to Steemit dear @partywalrus! Nice to have you here! :)
Animal rights march, forest psytrance parties, psychedelics and meditation? Dude, I already like you hahahaha :D
Nice to have you as a friend on Steemit!
I wish you a lot of fun and success in our community and I am excited to read more from you! :)
Best wishes and Namasté!

Thank you very much for the warm welcome! I'm looking forward to see more from you! Moooar visionary art!! :-D

You are welcome my friend! :)
Aaaaw thank you so much! I am so happy you like it!! :)

I find your peculiar view on life to be refreshing, but not only amusing but innovative. Discovery has always been on the basis of the different "thing". Discovery never came from the ability to see an idea from the same side. I hope you continue to discover and advocate for your beliefs.

Well spoken, mister. As a wise man once said: "When everybody's thinking the same thoughts, nobody is thinking." Thank you for the kind words!

Glad to have you here @partywalrus. I'm a big fan of your perspectives on evolution and how you connected blockchain to our greater evolution. I do also feel that our "purpose" is to make those connections on a greater scale than ever before. It's truly an inspiring time. Glad we have crossed paths. I have followed and look forward to reading into more of your good vibes. Cheers friend!

It is, right? Back as a teen I used to fantasize about how cool it would be to be part of the 70s and 80s. Now, I can't do anything but thank god that I'm alive and in my prime years at this present moment. Thank you for the kind words! Looking forward to hear more about your interesting perspectives. Have already added several of your articles to the list :-)

True that man! Best time to be alive for sure. Gonna be a ride, and we've only just begun man. Looking forward to engaging our minds on here! Cheers bro

Very good introduction. It seems that we do in fact, have many similar views, especially in terms of ultered states and spirituality. I look forward to reading more of what you have to say. Followed :)

Awesome :-) Btw, I just read your trip report Inside the Belly of the Worm. Great read! I can relate to that feeling of non-duality. Only gotten there once with DMT. Something sacred, for sure. When will part 2 be out?

Awesome! Thanks. I've never tried DMT (unless salvia contains DMT?). I really want to try ayhuaska though which contains DMT. I have heard it is a very sacred spiritual experience. I'm not sure when part 2 will come out. I try to mix it up with my articles. Maybe later this month?

Salvia doesn't contain DMT, but I find the two to be somewhat comparable just in terms of potency of the hallucinations. Ayahuasca is indeed very spiritual. More so than DMT because it's not as intense, and it lasts way longer so that the user got time to make sense of what's going on. DMT is a hotline to another dimention and back in a matter of minutes, so it's considered hard to use it in spiritual practice, at least in terms of personal growth from what I've heard (I don't have extensive experiences with it). I'm also looking into Ayahuasca seremonies :-)

Ok, looking forward to part 2!

Welcome to Steemit @partywalrus !

Its so cool to see more and more familiar faces from Norway pop up both here on Steemit, and in the cryptospace in general.

I really enjoyed your introduction post, It would seem you are of to a flying start quality wise. I'm looking forward to your upcoming piece!

~ @xtetrahedron

Aww, thank you, bud! I'm so happy you introduced me to all of this. The more I learn about Steemit the stronger becomes the feeling that we're dealing with a real game changer here in the world of social media. Brilliant concept!

Heisann! Kjekt å se flere nordmenn her :)
Ser frem til se hva du kommer til å legge ut fremover og håper at du kommer til å digge platformen like mye som jeg gjør :)
