A Senate Candidate by the name of Jason Woodforth has had influence with the success of the removal it is also stated that 26 Queensland councils have removed fluoride from the water supply but i'm still yet to confirm this. I will be looking at raising awareness for other town's to follow. Stay tuned!
I think you're fortunate in Queensland - fluorides only got introduced to the water supply 5-10 years ago - is that correct? So I suppose many people still remember a time when it wasn't around, and that might have made it easier for people to accept a world without it. I'm not sure if it will be quite so easy in other states, but at least we can see it's possible.

fluoride is very reactive and binds strongly to calcium. this is why it can create dental fluorosis and bone loss. it is difficult to filter though there are filters that will reduce it. pulverized eggshells to the point of being powdered (can use coffee grinder) mixed with heavily fluoridated water and allowed to settle out can help reduce it, if you have nothing else. also, distilled water with added sea salt (not too much) to replace mineral content.
