FOR THE LOVE OF STEEMIT

So lately I have been thinking hard and fast about the past, current and future status of SteemIt in the world social networks. Hell! Every Steemian who believes in this system must have had these thoughts too. We have all seen the potential in this platform. This is the potential to make something huge out of nothing. This reminds me of the Biblical stories of creation. It was said that God created the universe out of nothing. He only said words and they came to be. "Let there be light. And there was light".

At the point it currently is now, its no longer just a mere potential but a manifestation.
Its real because it helps to build dreams. Its real because it is a community of real people chasing real goals. Its real because digital currency is here and now with us. Its real because it is you and I. It contains our thoughts. It contains our stories. All these are the drives which spur us into action good or bad.

The most important values I have come to appreciate from SteemIt is this- "I believe in people". Those 4 letters are exactly what you are saying anytime you login to your desktop computer or mobile device to checkin and see what you have in your daily feeds. You believe in people anytime you click that upvote button. You believe in someone once you comment or reply someone's comments. You believe in the reality and ideality of people since you began to make posts. And those same people you have come to believe in will never disappoint you collectively. You may get one 'fail' from one random Judas but know ye that there are other 11 loyal disciples waiting to do good by you.

Back in my days of learning physics, I was always fascinated by abstract concepts that many people couldn't get a good grasp of. For example, lets consider Einstein's Theory of Relativity and the resultant popular equation (E = MC °2). Beyond the mathematical brouhaha that is represented in these letters and number is the simple statement that "energy can neither be created nor destroyed but can only be changed from one form to another".

SO how does this relate to our very own SteemIt Community?
Let me break it down a bit. Our thoughts are a product of our minds. Our minds only work because of the consciousness bestowed on it by the brain. The brain is one of the organs of the human body using up a huge percentage of the daily calorie supply. Calorie is energy gotten through food and converted into ATP by the processes of metabolism to produce this very document you are using. So you see that your Steem is actually a product of the energy expended by about half a million users in this community.

The people are your Steem Power. The people are your Steem. But you are your reputation. You are the source of your own quota of energy needed for the synergistic growth of this community. Your negative thoughts and words and actions might hurt us all in more ways than you can count. You may think its just something as little as copying someone else's hardwork of brain energy (plagiarism). You may think its just an innocent troll comment dropped at someone. Oh! You may even conclude that the #Steemiverse doesn't need you to survive. But it does.

SteemIt needs all of us to contribute that positive burst of self-conscious energy that will make the whole community better than we met it. Let's SteemIt for humanity. Let's SteemIt with pride! Lets make this work not because we want to earn free Steem. Lets do this right FOR THE LOVE OF STEEMIT!
