Finally hopping on board

Hello Steemit community!  This is my first post to this exciting new blogging platform, and while I know that I missed the boat on the big launch last year, I am hoping that great things come of Steemit!  I've been meaning to start writing here for quite a while but just haven't been able to bring myself to sit down and start.  This is partly because I am not a writer by nature although I often wish I was.

I am an IT professional by trade who has been involved mostly with the Internet, PHP development, some Linux system administration and some IT support.  A few years ago I quit my day job as PHP developer for a Moodle (learning CMS) company to manage the running of the IT portion of a small social media management company.  While the social media company has not had the great success and/or growth I had hoped for, it has allowed me time to delve into other technical interests such as cryptocurrency.

I plan to begin my journey here by writing about some smaller cryptocurrencies that I am following the community for or where I have developed relationships with the current developers.  Stay tuned.
