I'm here to learn, to play, and to help set off a metaphorical weapon.

Hello, Steemiers! Please follow and help me get oriented?

My name is Tresa. I generally go by Tre. Pronounced "Tree". Thus, the misstree, as I am also sometimes called.

I'm here to learn, to play, and to help set off a metaphorical weapon.

I come from a pre-credit card world of aluminum antennas, stick shifts, landlines, telephone party lines, CB radios, traveler's checks, hardback encyclopedias, the Dewy Decimal System, math without a calculator...and you're an adult when you turn 18 ~ so figure it out. I'm no digital-native. (Colossal understatement there!) I haven't learned the stuff that brings me this far from school or passive osmosis. I am in over my head all the time, but I'm learning. Though I have access to the same basic tools as the rest of you here, I suspect I am MUCH less adept at using them.

Better figure out how to use them, however! And no time to waste. Things are moving fast!

“The only way that we can live is if we grow. The only way that we can grow is if we change. The only way that we can change is if we learn. The only way we can learn is if we are exposed. And the only way that we can become exposed is if we throw ourselves out into the open. Do it. Throw yourself.” - C. JoyBell C.

OK.

I refuse to end a day without learning something or developing on something. Even if my progress is small (and in the digital world, it generally IS).
Yesterday (after @marketpro Gregory Mannarino suggested in a video I check it out) I threw myself into the Steemit Realm by opening my account.
Today I expose myself!

I'm filching these photos from Facebook, where you can check me out to see I'm a real person. https://www.facebook.com/treesurbeck

In remembering who I really am and becoming who I might be, I seek ways to help others do the same. As we all try to adapt to a rapidly evolving world, I share in order to point others back to the wisdom they already have inside and in order to point them forward in growth. Our thoughts constitute our most basic platform for creating any type of change. To grow and improve, we must adjust our thinking and begin taking new action. In seeking betterment and growth for myself, I share meaningful thoughts, tools, and resources that might assist and encourage others in their own pursuits. I do this from wherever I happen to be, usually right from home, miles from any town, from the wide-open ranch country of Western Nebraska. Between my duties as a school bus driver and handling animal chores, I play and write and enjoy the ongoing adventure of learning and exploring my viability in today's world.

That LOOKS pretty good!

Truth is, however, I often don't so much "enjoy the ongoing adventure of learning and exploring my viability" as much as I struggle FOR viability and work to keep up.

I vacillate. I laugh at myself a lot. I groan. I've learned I need to be kind, patient and persistent with myself if I want to survive living with myself.

Now back to the metaphorical weapon...

Not a weapon of destruction or even defense or resistance. Rather a force of nurturance, clarity, and progression. Not offensive or defensive, but INFUSIVE.

It has been said many times, in many ways, and by many people that ideas and books are, perhaps, our most powerful weapons.

I say that ideas and books are like triggers that can activate our most powerful weapons. Our individual and collective SPIRITS!

This is the potential I see with the Steemit platform. This is why I've shown up. I understand its potential as an evolving place of ideas and, being based on the blockchain, like a book itself.

I'm throwing in. I have things to contribute and much to learn. I'm fully loaded AND rechargeable!

My digital skills are limited and my knowledge, a work in progress.
My spirit, though, is indomitable and ready to explore this place and meet you.

I look forward to learning from you and thank you in advance!

Hi @misstree. Welcome to steemit and nice to meet you. :)

Thank you :) I'll figure this out and check you out!

Hello @markthpoolman! Thank you. Do you have this place figured out yet?

Thanks, @vieira! Can you explain to me how to join (even FIND) communities? I'm following a few people now, but nothing is showing in my feed... Maybe I need to give it some time?

It is likely, wait a bit, when the people you follow begin to publish, your posts will appear in your feed.

I remember the Dewey Decimal System lol. Been a long time since I heard anyone talk about it though.

Welcome to Steemit Tre! I loved this post and am looking forward to reading more.

lol ~ yep. Long time...

Do you understand the deal with "Upvote post"?

Welcome to Steem @misstree. Feel free to follow me @kanasite and upvote. Cheers :)

Will do. Thanks!
