      ¿Qué tal todos? Mi nombre es María Alejandra, aunque mis amigos me dicen “Mari” o “Mariale”, tengo 22 años.

     How is everybody doing? My name is María Alejandra, although many friends call me "Mari" o "Mariale", I am 22 years old.

     Actualmente me encuentro viviendo en un pueblo llamado El Tigre, en Anzoátegui, Venezuela. Me uní hace una semana aproximadamente a la comunidad de Steemit, pero por fuerzas mayores, hoy realizo mi primer post presentándome. Nací y crecí rodeada de gente mayor, no soy contemporánea con mis hermanos y mis papás me llevan 40 años. Al tener 5 años tuve a mi primera sobrina, así que técnicamente es como mi hermana, luego vinieron dos sobrinos más, pero esa será otra historia.

     I am currently living in a town called El Tigre, Anzoátegui, Venezuela. I joined the community of Steemit about a week ago, but due to major forces, today I make my first post introducing myself. I was born and raised up surrounded by older people, I am younger than my brothers and my parents are 40 years older than me. When I was 5 years old my first niece was born, so, technically, she is like my sister, then two more nephews came, but that will be another post.

     Hace 1 semana me gradué de Ingeniero Aeronáutico en la Universidad Nacional Experimental Politécnica de la Fuerza Armada Bolivariana (UNEFA), con sede en Caracas, la capital de mi país. Duré cinco años en mi carrera universitaria, de los cuales un año y medio, viví con una tía y el resto con una señora que considero como mi abuela, a pesar de que era su inquilina.

     One week ago I graduated as an Aeronautical Engineer from the UNEFA, with base in Caracas, the capital of my country. I spent five years studiying my career, of which, one year and a half, I lived with an aunt and the rest with a lady that I consider as my grandmother, also I was her tenant.

     Desde siempre me han gustado los deportes, practiqué voleyball, football, softball y kikingball, basketball (a pesar de medir 1,59 m.), natación, ultimate frisbee, e incluso fui patinadora extrema durante varios años de mi vida, siendo reconocida a nivel nacional e internacional dentro del movimiento por participar en varios eventos y competencias. Desde pequeña me gustaba patinar, pero mis padres accedieron a regalarme unos patines cuando tenía 16 años, sin embargo, desde antes patinaba con patines prestados, incluso con patinetas.

     I have always enjoyed sports, I practiced volleyball, soccer, softball and kickingball, basketball (regardless of my height), swimming, ultimate frisbee; and I even practice rollerblading for several years in my life, being recognized at national and international level for participating in various events and competitions. Since I was little I liked to skate, but my parents agreed to give me some skates when I was 16 years old, however, since before I skated with borrowed skates, even with skateboards.

     En el 2012, días antes de mi cumpleaños, tuve una caída patinando, en donde me fracturé el radio y me disloqué la muñeca. Fue una recuperación muy larga, ya que mi hueso no soldaba con la rapidez que debía. Durando así 3 meses con yeso y 2 meses más con una férula. Además de que el calcio que se suponía debía llegar a la fractura, lo expulsaba por la orina, creándome cálculos en los riñones. No fue un año sencillo, y me atrevo a decir que la terapia dolió más que el accidente como tal. Sin embargo, no fue de impedimento este incidente, seguí patinando y conociendo ciudades de Venezuela compartiendo mucha gente que practicaba el deporte o que simplemente le gustaba acompañar.  

    In 2012, days before my birthday, I had a fall skating, where I fractured the radius and dislocated my wrist. It was a very long recovery, since my bone did not weld as fast as it should. Thus lasting 3 months with plaster and 2 more months with a splint. In addition to the calcium that was supposed to reach the fracture, I expelled it through the urine, creating kidney stones. It was not a simple year, and I dare say that the therapy hurt more than the accident itself. However, this incident was not a hindrance, I kept skating and getting to know cities of Venezuela sharing many people who practiced sports or who simply liked to accompany.

     Debido a este tipo de actividad, mi universidad, el patinaje y la vida de mi ciudad natal, tendí a tener un círculo social bastante amplio. Gente de todo tipo, buenas y malas. Lo que me enseñó a ser selectiva con quienes considero mis amigos, quienes posiblemente sean contados con los dedos de 1 sola mano.

     Due to this type of activity, my university, skating and the life of my hometown, I tended to have a fairly broad social circle. All kind of people, good and bad. What taught me to be selective with whom I consider my friends, who may be counted with the fingers of only one hand.

    Sufrí de un episodio de depresión, etapa que me enseñó muchísimo sobre la vida. Actualmente estoy soltera, y espero estarlo par de años más. A medida alcanzo metas personales, me exijo mucho más al elegir con quien compartir mi tiempo.

     I suffered from an episode of depression, a stage that taught me a lot about life. I am currently single, and I hope to keep this way for a couple years. As I reach personal goals, I demand much more to myself when choosing who I’m gonna to share my time with.

     Tengo 4 mascotas, 3 perros y 1 loro (o lora, realmente no sabemos que es) que ladra a veces. Los perros se llaman Ben, Campanita y Mila, y el loro pues, se llama Lorito.

     I have 4 pets, 3 dogs and 1 parrot (we really don’t know if it is a male o female) that barks sometimes. The dogs are called Ben, Campanita and Mila, and the parrot is called Lorito.

     Me encanta todo lo referente a computadoras, tanto hardware como software, me dedico a usar Windows. Soy gamer, desde que tengo uso de razón. Recuerdo que mi primer juego fue Earth Worm Jim. Amante de la saga de Assasins Creed, y jugadora de League of Legends, en donde formo parte de un equipo llamado Black Mamba Gaming, formado principalmente por mexicanos, en donde jugamos por diversión.

     I love everything about computers, both hardware and software, I'm dedicated to using Windows. I am a gamer, since I have use of reason. I remember that my first game was Earth Worm Jim. Lover of the Assasins Creed saga, and League of Legends player, where I am part of a team called Black Mamba Gaming, formed mainly by Mexicans, where we play for fun.  

     Me gusta cocinar, tomar vino tinto, café y té, jugar dominó con amigos, y las buenas películas. Me encanta escuchar los problemas de los demás y ayudarlos a sentir mejor. 

     I like to cook, drink red wine, coffee and tea, play dominoes with friends, and good movies. I love listening to others problems and helping them feel better.

     Además, soy fotógrafa aficionada, a pesar de no tener una cámara profesional, intento sacar buenas fotos. Siempre uso el dicho de “la cámara no hace al fotógrafo”. 

     Also, I am an amateur photographer, despite not having a professional camera, I try to take good pictures. I always use the saying "the camera does not make the photographer".
