and it's a good tactic to gain a lot of followers, easy curation awards etc.
maybe if you were to admit that you're doing it for your own benefits as well, rather than pretending to be a so selfless ... they might remove the downvotes!
Only @smooth and his team downvoted. If you gain followers it's because those people actually want to be conected and that means they actually LIKE what you do. By your statement you seem to imply that only "certain" people is allowed to gain popularity on steemit and others are "punished" because they are seen as a dangerous "competition" against their agenda.
Well @luminousvisions, my "agenda" was to make new users feel a little less lonely when they enter the platform. It seems it is seen as a "dangerous" agenda for some.
I'm doing my part to build a social-network instead of a ghetto, you know?
