Know Louie: An Introductory Post of Myself

Hello Everyone! This is my introductory post! In compliance with the appropriate introduction as told by @asbonclz.

I am Jose Lovie Canlom or simply Louie. A son of the sun, Brother of the Moon and an Admirer of the star. I’m at this point of life where I’m in a soul searching or should I say I want to pursue my passion.

As a Millennial I want to be as bold as I can be, to prove something and nonetheless to be happy to the fullest in my life. I grew up in countryside in the Philippines where plains of rice-fields are the playing ground of my childhood, a place where colorful butterflies are in flocks and a place where serenity embraces the dusk of the day.

Nevertheless in my place we also have a business hub where people in our hood and folks from other towns gathered for leisure and to purchase their household essentials, this place is called “sentro” (center) and my place is Molave! During my early days I think it was just a typical one. Like we always wait for Animes (DragonBall etc.), playing on rivers and fields, ditch some household chores to take some pack of mangoes in my neighbor’s place without their permission but later in that day I received bunch of whiplash from my oldman.

Indeed, it was a good time. Then my family moved to “sentro” to have a better living. We established a “carinderia” (small restaurant) where I honed my one of my hobbies, food and cooking. Then highschool came to an end.

Way back 2011 I went to Mindanao State University- Iligan Institute of Technology taking an Education course majoring in Physics. It was in good state at first but in later part I’m in trouble with Math (as you know Math is the Language of Physics).

Then I shopped at College of Arts and Social and Social Sciences to find some course where I can enroll. Then I got to Department of Filipino. At first I was in-doubt with my course. Coz as you know we Filipinos does have prejudices with our own language. Thinking that English is way better than our National Language and even our own Mother- Tongue, Epiphany sunk- in with my system, I grasp a lot of knowledge about my own language and culture. I decided at that time that I’ll get my diploma with this course. Then I bumped with theater acting, poetry and fiction. I was blown away with these forms of art.Now I can’t resist not to create poems, flash-fictions short stories.

Time passed and now I got my Degree in Bachelor of Arts in Filipino. Summer ends and well as you know I don’t want to be labeled as “tambay” (unemployed).

So I’m in need of job and I made up my mind to go back to my town. I landed as a Visiting-Instructor at Western Mindanao State University - Molave Campus for a year and Fulltime Lecturer at Josefina H. Cerilles State College – Molave Campus for 2 years. It was a fine time for my career actually, I have the money whenever i want to have some beers and I can help my mother to partake our daily ends.

But I feel that I still want something, that feeling of wanting to get out in this support-system and to nurture more my passion towards poetry, fiction, songwriting and adventure. So I decided to go back to the place where I met my passion.

Now I did get back in Iligan and a homie of mine @asbonclz introduces me to this platform. I’m in doubt at first but as we talk about this platform I find it quite amazing because I just found an avenue for my passion. Just imagine you’re doing your thing and they reward you with it. It’s a win-win situation right? You got what you want; they reward you with what you’ve done. I have a lot of plans with my journey in Steemit and Honestly I’m at peak of excitement.
