THE FASTEST ANIMALS ON THE PLANET

By land, by water and by air, the fastest animals on the planet move at incredible speeds to hunt and not be hunted.

But not everything is strength in the territory of animal survival: sometimes, the fastest is the one that wins or the one that keeps the best loot.

CHEETAH:
The cheetah is a large feline that lives mostly in regions of Africa. It is known to be the fastest predator of all in the terrestrial world. This feline reaches speeds between 112 and 120 kilometers per hour, covering short distances of around 500 meters. And it can accelerate from zero to 100 kilometers per hour in three seconds. It is an animal so fast that it would exceed the acceleration capacity of many cars, and even several models are inspired by the spirit of this born hunter. The cheetah is the only cat that has non-retractable claws.
Its speed is not given only by the shape of its body and the power of its four legs: its nostrils are larger to allow more oxygen to enter during a race, and its heart is larger than normal to circulate more blood.

SAILFISH:
If the cheetah is the king of speed on land, the sailfish is its representative in the aquatic world. Sailfish inhabit warm regions of all the oceans of the planet. It is recognizable by its grayish-blue color and by an erectile dorsal fin with the appearance of a sail, which must have served as a model for avant-garde vessels. Like other fish, it has a pointed beak that resembles a sword and facilitates feeding. In all its life, it can reach a maximum length of three meters and a speed of up to 110 kilometers per hour.
In addition to being the fastest, it is also part of one of the strangest species of fish: its dorsal fin allows it not only to appear larger in front of its predators, but also to give amazing jumps out of the water.

PEREGRINE FALCON:
Heaven has its own king: the peregrine falcon. This popular species of raptor belongs to the family of hawks and exhibits a large size. The peregrine falcon has a bluish-gray back and its head is black, with a sort of mustache.
If the speed of the cheetah or the sailfish could sound incredible, that of the peregrine falcon is simply frightening. When it is determined to capture a prey, this species of bird can reach 325 kilometers per hour, which makes it the fastest animal on the planet. Some specimens have even reached the astronomical speed of 389 kilometers per hour.
The peregrine falcon can be found in almost any region of the Earth, except in polar zones, very high mountains or tropical forests.
