Within the Melancholy Chrysalis

While the moon sits full and high in a midnight garden, the fifth instar caterpillar sinks its hooks into the silken chrysalis.

It is time to release and surrender. A biological miracle is taking place. The butterfly is becoming. For so long she has been storing energy, waiting to consume it here in this moment.

She melts down into a puddle. A rich goo, created by the complete break down of tissues which no longer serve her. Within the goo is something greater.

The potential for rebirth in a miraculous new form. She let's go of the old, and remolds herself a new heart, brain, and extraordinary wings; which will carry her on a journey of celestial calling.

Finally emerging she's shed half her weight. Now her delicacy can withstand the ever changing winds. This new found lightness allows her to feel the rhythmic vibrations of her heart beat flowing throughout her entire body.

It keeps her warm, always reminding her of the existence of love, and its power to create life; with it she discovers the purity of pulsating peace.

Even the melancholy heart beats with more love than sadness. Imagine the beauty of soft liquid droplets rolling down the cheeks, as inherit bliss pulsates from the center, creating a warm spring mist for nourishing flowers. There is no shame in crying.

Harmony beats within us, recycling the energy to go on one day more. Its endurance is a miraculous gift to science. Its life is the rarest experience; an ever widening scope of compassion, which grants revelations of true depth in understanding.
