I'm Kenneth, Chemical Engineer, lead artist, mathematician, blogger, leader and a value-adder

Hello Steemians! I'm Osayande Kenneth; a native of Benin in Edo state, Nigeria. I'm a chemical engineering graduate of the University of Benin, Nigeria. To folks, Chemical Engineering sounds like Math and Chemistry, which is partly true, but not entirely true. Part of what we do as chemical Engineers is to optimize processes using available resources to generate profitable and useful outcomes. That's why we are sometimes referred to as Process Engineer.

That being said, let me let you in on one of my strength. I am a math addict. Just as air is to the natural man for breathing, so is math to me. It's my zone and it can communicate it effectively. To further buttress my point, I deliberately solved math questions first to give me an edge whenever I was called for any written interview. For me, it's not just a subject or course, it is a gift. It's no coincidence I scored A in most of my math related courses during my undergraduate days. I can manipulate and interpret numbers with ease. That's one of the benefit You stand to achieve with me being in this community.

Okay. Let progress to other aspect of my life so you don't think this guy is math math math. You wanna guess?

I'm a musician. I love taking leads and backing up. Music is good for the soul. Have You ever noticed that when there is a crisis, musicians are called upon to sing? Yeah! It's not far-fetched. It brings healing to the soul. Music is one thing that does not require permission to get into the left hemisphere of the brain. In essence, it uses both hemispheres. It is a therapy for people living with neurological diseases. Whenever I am overwhelmed, I just listen to songs, and then I'm back up. Currently, music occupies 40% of the memory card folder in my phone. It's a part of me.

One thing I do is influence people positively anywhere I find myself. Bringing out the best in people or seeing what is working and improving on what ought to is what I consistently do. As long as it is in my power, I don't withhold good from anyone who seeks help from me. I gladly assist people anyway I can. That brings me to my next point; leadership.

One does not necessarily need to be the loudest to lead. I'm a guy who likes to live in a quiet environment, but have found out that leaders just delegate duties to me with a full assurance that I can deliver. I might be the quietest person in that surrounding but it makes no difference. I've come to know that a leader is one who sees ahead of time what others cannot even imagine. The movie Snowpiercer thoroughly explained that. Also, the movie Captain America; Civil war depicted that leadership is not all about position. As My Pastor; Rev. Eboda will say "positional leadership" is the lowest form of leadership, and I concur. At times, a vital part of leadership is following; being humble enough to admit You don't know it all and learn from people who knows what You are lacking. I've followed. I've led people.
