Hello, My name is Nathaniel Moore

in #introduceyourself8 years ago (edited)

Hi, My real name is Nathaniel Moore and I've been into the Bitcoin Scene since about 2011. I used to work at an open cafe in Oregon.

For 2 years, I curated it into my own little Bitcoin church, happy to tell the hundreds of tourists and locals how bitcoin entered my life and changed it forever - often to their amazed bewilderment.

Just as most of you know now, Bitcoin was sure to change the world in my opinion, and I was excited to share the news of a tool that would come to empower so many of us in countless ways that we are still dreaming up.

I found it easy to engage in the topic as most people would freely engage me regarding my hobbies beyond the cooking grill. I told them I loved to skateboard, play video games and trade bitcoins (total dork!) - and inevitably I would manage to be in full control of the conversation as all of them would ask "What is bitcoin?"

"well, allow me to enlighten you"

I would often pick wild mushrooms in the forest (King Bolete) and bring them to work for cooking

I cured and smoked my own bacon.

Chopped every ingredient to order.

It was an amazing place to grow as a cook, as an artist and as a human being. The people who surrounded me were ever changing, always fascinating, sharing such stories of life and glory. I was always welcomed at their dinner table, and they at mine.

There was an entry to the old underground city (burned in the 1920's and they built on top of it.) and we would sneak down to smoke the herb and sip bourbon.

  • Its a beautiful place to live...

  • Most of the time, I am a commercial fisherman,

I fish near the coast of Oregon, Washington and Alaska. Salmon Season has been the highlight of my year.

Here is one of the big ones from this summer, 28 pounds. It was probably sold at Pike's Market in Seattle.

Here is some fresh caught Albacore Tuna, ready for the cannery or sushi! I am very careful when icing these beauties. Proud to have wrestled every single one onto the boat :)

Sometimes, we catch so much, we worry the boat might tip (thats me in the orange, holding on for dear life)

Sometimes, we get a little roll going on with the waves...

Speaking of.... [off topic: have you seen my waves post? https://steemit.com/blockchain/@jupiter00000/so-mycelium-just-partnered-with-waves-platform-to-bring-a-real-crypto-card]

Sometimes its exhausting, or boring...
#boringface

But its always #beautiful...

And its rarely lonely:

We ALWAYS eat good!

And every new port we visit is a brand new adventure... As long as nobody calls the cops on our drunken antics (sorry Newport).

  • and
    -------- Im really into music...

Here is one of my music video's:

I grew up south a few dozen miles south of Aberdeen, WA. Spent a lot of time in the woods, wandering. Feeding raccoons.

Growing up as social outcast of the highest order, I withdrew into music, entirely. I became obsessed. I went through full blown love affairs with my favorite albums, listening intently for a thousand repetitions.

  • Fleetwood Mac.
  • Pink Floyd.
  • Alice in Chains.
  • Nine Inch Nails.
  • Mars Volta.
  • Deftones.
  • The Cure.
  • The Clash.
  • Depeche Mode.

a few more................

I found out the influences of each band, read all the interviews, knew all the names. It was my life.

I gave myself to her call, I lay out in the open waters of the Naselle River, singing praise to the awakening creative energies that would lead me to devote the next decade to teaching myself drums, guitar and piano so I could play them each and form my own band.

I moved to Seattle, played with the big boys for 7 years, came back home to Astoria and started recording.

                  This is the outcome...

- Beyond The Sky, a Rock album:

- Orion, an ambient, ethereal soundscape of pulsing polyrythms and haunting synthesizers: https://soundcloud.com/jupitermusic/sets/jupiter

- An acoustic improvisation recorded with an ipod while I was peaking on LSD: https://soundcloud.com/jupitermusic/l-intoxicationprovisationd

- A piano improvisation that will forever haunt my dreams. I have no clue how I played it.
I barely remember it. Under the influence of heartbreak and hashish Im sure...
