My Official Steemit Intro - A Story of Relief and Community

Hi there!

First off, thank you for giving me your attention for this moment in time. I can't express how much that actually means. Your attention is a valuable asset and you should treasure every moment of it.

Now, my introduction to STEEM came through OpenLedger and Bitshares. I saw it on the exchange upon release of the platform, and immediately realized that this is one of the first platforms that actually presents a valid simple to understand use case for digital currencies (aside from transferring value without the need of banks).

New Process:

1. Write content
2. People see it
3. People like it
4. Get paid

The current model of social media like that of Facebook and Twitter operates in a fashion that ensures that only THEY receive the majority of value created by your content. The fact that STEEM is shifting this model is much more radical than most realize at this point in time. It is not only a great way to earn extra income, but also a significant step towards a more decentralized world.

I have been involved in digital currencies since 2011, and have learned about essentially all of the digital currencies in existence today. Steem, while still in it's infancy, is doing something quite unique. Self-empowerment is one of my favorite terms. Realizing that we are all creators with potential to create amazing content, and cultivating the freedom to express ourselves only in the ways we want to is, in my opinion, part of the change that this world is so desperately looking for.

While I do believe that other types of platforms such as Synereo ( check it here http://bit.ly/29S2b6Y) will be a further iteration of platforms like Steem (maybe they'll even be able to work together), for now this is pretty awesome. I'm stoked to be a part of this community, and look forward to it's continued success!
