Jack Lorge Introduction

Hi; Jack Lorge here. I was born March 5, 1938, in the Shaunavon, Saskatchewan Union Hospital. Technology has certainly come a long way since March 5, 1938. When I was young my parents operated a mixed farm near a small prairie town called Scotsguard, in Southwestern Saskatchewan, Canada. I started grade one at Dahlia, a one room country school. We later moved to the Coal Valley School District, also a one room country school.

All the students and the teacher got to school in those days by horse and buggy or saddle pony. No preschool or kindergarten, but all grades 1-12 in a one room schoolhouse. Because of the danger of kids getting lost in a prairie snow storm; school holidays were during January and February. We went to school all summer. I graduated from Shaunavon High School in 1956 and then took Agricultural Engineering at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon, specialising in Soil Science.

During the summer holidays I would work on construction projects such as building grain elevators, roads, bridges and pipelines. I eventually had my own earth moving business where I continued building roads, canals, and land levelling.

My wife, Rolande and I moved to Coaldale, Alberta in 1972, where I built the home we now live in and raised two sons and two daughters. I have build or renovated the homes they live in. We now have twelve grandchildren and three great grandchildren. I was employed by the Alberta Government as a land appraiser, later bought a business called Trophies Unlimited, which I sold to my oldest daughter some sixteen years ago. On November 28, 2007 I retired from building new homes and renovating older homes.

My newest venture is promoting and marketing Bitcoins.
