TIME FOR WORK ALREADY?!

Good morning, good afternoon or good evening to all the steemers, which ever may apply from wherever you may be residing, who‘ve taken the time to read this (I truly appreciate it by the way).

I woke up today feeling completely miserable. Body sore, sinuses flaring and absolutely no optimism towards my dreaded work day. Before I continue though, let me say this.

SIX A.M. STARTS ARE CRUEL!”

Now I can only speak for myself but I’m positive most of you can agree. At the age of 29 I still have entirely too much energy to find myself asleep before 10 pm. Midnight seems to be the time that I begin to feel sleepiness and an urge to bask in the comfort of my bed. Granted there are times where I have knocked out early enough to get a full nights rest but it’s not an often enough occurrence.

So for me to wake up at 5 am daily to wash my face, brush my teeth, get dressed, maybe make myself a cup of coffee and still travel 30 minutes to my shop all on roughly 5 hours of sleep on average, you can imagine over time how physically and mentally draining this routine can be.

With that being said, I‘d be lying if I told you I hated my job or I was unhappy because of it. First of all, I make a great wage for someone who hasn’t even completed high school (please don’t judge me). Secondly, I’ve learned a lot working in my field that I can apply to almost anything in the tradesman industry (carpentry, electrical, steel and sheet metal installation etc.) allowing home ownership to be a lot less of a headache.

Overall between learning and developing particular skills and tricks to the trade and earning on average $3500-$4000 dollars a month, I usually do my best to adapt to the challenges of waking up early then a rooster!

SO LET ME BE HONEST.

The truth is even though I’ve managed to create and maintain a steady and stable life for myself, I still feel like something is missing. Years of being a responsible adult have completely disconnected me from my coping mechanisms as a growing and learning teenager. Creative expression.

Poetry, music lyrics, fictional short stories, sports. Growing up in Brooklyn, NY has always given me the opportunities to tap into these worlds. The women would inspire my poetic side. Writing love sonnets to seduce the girls I would lust for. Freestyle sessions in front of apartment buildings with long time friends. Competing against each other with words in hopes of outwitting one and other. I would write these descriptive shorts about characters based on the always exciting residents of my neighborhood. Playing rough two hand touch football in the middle of the streets where games would be constantly interrupted by traffic.

I realized  I always managed to stay happy as a youth because I always allowed myself an outlet for expression. Many of my friends had similarities that allowed us to interact organically. It made things very easy to be yourself.

Boy have things changed at my age.

STEEMIT IS MY 2ND CHANCE

I was beginning to think that I would never truly know myself again. Until now. Finding STEEMIT at this point in my life has given me a new sense of expression. After researching and exploring the platform and some of the individuals within the community I found myself wanting to re-enter the creative parts of my mind. This platform has pushed me to think outside the box. Driven me to learn how to do new things. It’s also showed me that blogging is more than just “somebody’s view” and is a lot harder than you think.

The fact that this wonderful place gives you the chance to not only express yourself but to earn income while doing so is just absolutely phenomenal.  Who would’ve ever thought?

So now that I’m here and ready to start given you a guys a look into my world I’m hoping that you take the time out to scroll through some of my other post and give those a look and maybe an upvote and a resteem if you see anything in particular that interest you. I am hoping that the few that follow me now will be open and honest to me about my content and my views. I will never downvote you or flag you for having a different outlook other than mines. I respect each persons decisions and opinions as long as it’s not harmful, offensive or vicious in anyway. I’m looking forward to showing you guys my world and I can’t wait to see what you have in store for me and the rest of the Steemians.
