The short story of my life
Hi, Everyone! I just created my account on Steemit and I read that it's a good idea to introduce myself. So here we go :)
My name is Daniel and I am a strange INFP bird.
I was born in communist Bulgaria back in the 80's and when I was 5 years old, I was already participating in the demonstrations against the regime alongside my mom. I saw the end of it and the dawn of "democracy". My childhoold was a happy one - I had many friends and there were no computers or cell phones. I broke 2 of my front teeth when I was 9, so I had to wear braces.
During my high-school years, I finally encountered a computer and mIRC. Internet was, however, painfully limited and expensive. Electronic music discovered me, and I started frequently dying my hair in fancy colors. I wanted to be different from my classmates. At the age of 17, I finally had my teeth fixed. They were new and shiny, which gave me a huge boost in confidence. Soon after, I got drunk for the first time and met my first love.
High school was fun but then came university and macroeconomics. Pure waste of time and super boring. I somehow graduated (with scores that are embarrassing to share) and was lucky enough to land a full-time job as a marketing specialist. Wow. A year later, I was wondering whether I got fired because of the economic crisis or because of my performance. The bosses told me it was the latter. I got dumped shortly after and I started realizing that nothing in life is permanent.
What would one normally do after being jobless for a year? Move abroad to study! I moved to Denmark, the country of Mads Mikkelsen, free education (for EU citizens) and prøbably the best beer in the world. I learned Danish – derfor kan jeg også skrive på dansk – which was one hell of a challenge. Three semesters at the university were enough to make me feel tired of business and marketing. My outlook started changing – I no longer wanted to accumulate money, I wanted to make the world a better place. Thus, I wrote a master thesis about dialogue and change and stayed jobless for more than a year.
What would one do in such situation? Move back! Apparently, knowing Danish in Bulgaria is a strong advantage – I quickly got a well-paid job. Here I am now a few years later. Back in Sofia, working as a social media specialist. But I am many other things as well - photographer, videographer, writer, painter, poker player, just to name a few. And I still want to change the world!
Steemit looks like a great place to share my photos, videos and writings. And who knows – I might end up changing the world somehow.
Thank you for reading.
Daniel
Welcome and thanks for posts you have made!
I wish you the best!
Thank you @tonyson4078
Thank you @sirwinchester ;)
Great story! I find Danish beers great too! I love craft beers and I am myself homebrewer too!
Thank you @mdosev :) Yes, there are some awesome Danish craft beers, and I noticed in your introductory post that you are brewing beer at home. Impressive :-)
Непременно!
Hi Daniel,
I'm new too and just wanted to give you a quick hello and welcome :)
Hello to you, too @coincravings ! :)
Welcome to Steemit! I think this platform is especially suited to a self-proclaimed INFP like yourself - looking forward to seeing your creative projects here. :)
Thank you @runaway-psyche! I hope I don't get lazy because... well, laziness is another one of INFP's traits :) I just read your first post about Antarctica - it's wonderful.
Welcome!
