HAPPY NEW YEAR STEEMIT!!! My name is Indy and I make HOT BEATS!

GREETINGS STEEMIANS!
First and foremost...
Thank you for supporting such a wonderful and revolutionary movement! The very concept behind this platform is AMAZING!! I feel so blessed to be able to participate in the beginning of such a revolutionary new platform! I am so intrigued by the community, and its potential!

I'm Indy, and I'm a pretty ridiculous human being. (BIRD UP!) I run a multimedia label/collective called Bipolar Entertainment, aimed at celebrating the beauty of creation as we mash not just genres, but art forms to push our artistic boundaries. We're vested in all sorts of unorthodox ideas, as our imaginations know no bounds. It's a beautiful blessing to live in a world and time where accomplishing these tasks are ventures fully possible and in our grasp!! From a melting pot of music, light-painting and eclectic styles of dance to hooping, animation/graphic design and fire spinning, etc we want to celebrate it ALL!!!

That being said, ITS ABOUT TIME I FINALLY MADE THIS POST!!!! I have been helping curate with another account (with my business account @bipolar) as well as assisting in various collaborations with other members of the community for awhile now, I've been toying with a few ideas on just what to post first as my introduceyourself post. I settled upon HOT BEATS - a ridiculous instructional video featuring me teaching any interested audience members how to easily make AMAZING HOT BEATS WITH JUST AN IPAD!

(This was actually just me being me - aka a ridiculous character I was doing, and then low and behold @avesa brought out cameras and started filming - something that happens often it seems. So you can thank them for the proof it exists.)

Transcript at the bottom

Our imaginations are pretty wild even it comes to our label, as we find new ways to create and bring people and communities together through art. One such example would be a mobile music cart @avesa and I conceptualized and created 2 years ago. Equipped with 2 laptops, MIDI instruments, portable power/amplification, and a mic/mixer, we setup and invite any passing artists to come collab and create with us in the moment! We make our beats improvised, hosting our own version of a cypher but with all types of art. We have been blessed with the opportunity to create with dancers, singers, graffiti artists, rappers, BMX riders, fire spinner, LED hoopers and share an untouchable energy. Watching this energy start and build up momentum to a place where we have over 50 strangers in a circle dancing, singing, creating and celebrating our human spirit and soul despite differences in color, race, sex, creed, or religion… it’s a truly transcendental experience. We’re now on version 2.5 which we took on a west coast tour to create with as many people as possible!

I look forward to sharing more about that venture and telling you guys all about our trip and some of the gold souls we met.

Besides my artistic ventures, I also work as a Facilitator for various Team Building events, partnering companies with local NPO's helping to give back to the community, whether it be building bikes for underprivileged children of the Boys and Girls club or putting together care packages for hurricane survivors. I've been working this job for over 5 years now, and was promoted to an Event Facilitator at the beginning of 2017, and have an incredible time since I've take the position. I can't wait to share some future posts with you that go into further detail.

HOT BEATS TRANSCRIPT
"Hi, welcome to Hot Beats — It's just another episode where we teach you how to make hot beats. I just wanna let you know — in this day and age, technology makes it really simple, to where you can make hot beats in your living room. It doesn't matter if you have a phone, a laptop, multi-million dollar studio, a cat, or just an Ipad. In today's example, we're gonna show you how in this case we're gonna take a tool like an Ipad, modded by Apple. OK. This Apple Ipad is gonna make us great songs, dope beats. It doesn't matter if you make Hiphop, Jazz, Rock, Latin, Polka, Electronica. You're gonna be able to do it all, right here.

Aaand stop. Stop. Stop..... Alright, lets concoct a new thing. So for today's episode, we're gonna use Korg i-Kaossilator. This is actually based off a real thing. I know it's kinda awesome, because I feel like I'm in an awesome simulation, because actually, on todays Ipad Pro — it seems like our Kaossilator is a little bigger than life. It's perfect. Just how I like it. Cause we live down south in...... we're gonna bleep that out cause we don't want you to know where we live. Don't track us down, we make hot beats online.

Ok, so check it out. I think we're gonna start with something hot. Whenever you making hot beats, you definitely need to start with the drums first. What makes the babies move and groove? What makes the babies move and groove? The drums. Drums.
Alright lets go. Lets go to the drums. you're gonna go ahead and click down over here. You got 5 buttons. You're gonna click on the last button. The drums are red cause they're hot. Alright so lets go ahead and put some hot drums in there. You know, you're gonna like maybe start somewhere like over here, I think.

Oh shit. That's already hot right off the bat. I didn't really expect that. Sometimes that happens. Thats the beautiful thing about the Ipad PRO. Because if it's on a pro, sometimes whenever your fingers just touch it, it turns out of f----ing control. Alright don't worry we're gonna bleep that out for the children because children love making hot beats too. Thats the beautiful thing about today's age. You don't know how old the hot beats came from. Last week I was listening to a seven year olds beats. They were hotter than mine. Fucking crazy times, I know. Alright. so we're gonna set up our loop time. Right down here. Actually it disappeared into the... Oh. right here instead. Sorry. sorry. Got confused for a second. Ipad pro took me by surprise. 16 by 16, we got 16th lengths. Lets go ahead and hit this titty button.

Ok so that kinda sucked actually, so we're gonna start a new project. We're gonna hit new. Create new loop. yeah. We're gonna fuckin ditch that shit, cause those chords were not working out for us. Ok lets start again. Oh shit. there it is. ok we're back right where we started. Hot beats. Oh. It kinda got outa hand for a second. Started going wild. It happens sometimes. Lets hit the titty button. You're gonna hit, yeaap. Ok so now we're gonna hit this play button. Ok ready set go. Oh shit. Oh no.
2 takes, drums down perfectly. On to the bass
everybody says, what about the bass? what about the bass? Ill tell you what. Drums are hot, they're red. Blue. blue is bass. cause the bass gets you blue. (dances).

Alright, lets add some bass, lets add some bass. Look at this. we have a list of bass sounds. That's perfect. You know what, big saw bass, no. Oh shit. It's just hitting me right in that spot. Oh.... Yeah, yeah, Yeah! YEAH. YEAH. YEAH. We already hit record. i didn't even tell you, but i just didn't have time.
There we go. Analog bass dialed in. dialed in. Now what we're gonna do, we're gonna bring in some cool percussions. Just kidding, those are some chords, we're not ready for that, but we already added it. Sometimes you just gotta add it. Even if ya not ready, ya think they're not ready, but they ready.

Oh shit, ok now what do you need, what do you need. You tryna let them know you're tryna let the pot simmer, let the pot simmer. Let the pot simmer

Ohhhhhhh! trippy noises, you know people love trippy noises when theyre on the dance floor, they're like ohhhhh make me trip right now. Thats the peak of my trip, right there! OH! that was... oh THATS too fast, slow down slow down slow down. There we go, relax it. let the soup simmer. Let the pot simmer. Now we're gonna try to record this sound while it's just simmerin' slow. Ready? hit the record.... go. Here we go... 3, 4. Let go. There you go.

Gotta go, gotta go, gotta go, gotta go. (dances more)
Now what do you gotta do? We got all the other elements covered in dance music. You know what the greatest thing about dance music is? It focuses on every other element first, and the higher melodic frequencies last. Thats what you.... You don't need that necessarily. As long as you got drums bass and lots of trip, your songs gonna be golden. Lets go.

Just like that, just like that. Gotta add a little motion, let them know what — I got another layer for you. And we're movin, we bouncin'. We got some higher frequencies. Higher frequencies. You think I can't make any melodies and be in Electronic music? Look, I got two notes right there.
TWO NOTES.

Now what are you gonna do? you're gonna be like oh shit. I think I'm done with my beat. You just about are. And in case you're tryna perform live — you're tryna perform your beats live with you're ipad, just fuck with the trips. OHHHHH shit. They on a trippy ride right now. They're gonna be like, is that all. You're gonna be like no, I got more trips, cause you got different trippy sounds. Now we in a UFO, we're in a LOFI UFO. S97, thats the name of our ship. We're goin we're goin, just kidding, now we're flyin, we flyin to the.... oh, we were just at the siren. Ohp. That's the wrong way, sometimes when you're makin beats, you gotta make sure you're goin the right way. But we're gonna talk about that on the next episode. Right now, my hair is gettin frazzled from how crazy these beats are. My hats goin all tippity top, but its ok cause I made a hot beat. See you on the next episode. Dance. DANCE. Dance Boots.

But... @infamousit

Hold on one second..... TAKE. @christianwindley

But does my hair look alright? Do I look like I'm ready for some hot beats? @infamousit

You look fine. @christianwindley

You look beautiful..... @avesa
