For everybody who's like, "I don't understand the blockchain", the only thing you really need to do on Steemit is post original, useful and/or entertaining content. The "understanding the blockchain" part isn't really necessary.

I'd also admonish everyone to avoid posting anything that isn't useful, including comments that don't add to the discussion. There are far too many "nice post" comments on Steemit because of the financial incentive, but those posts are likely to be downvoted by savvy users. Protect your reputation and your nut by only posting when you have something valuable to contribute. I do feel sorry for users who get downvoted for their oblivious behavior, but learn that lesson in etiquette early, and you will find Steemit to be a warm and welcoming community!
