Introduction

My name is Horacio Lizardo Jr, I received a B.F.A at Kendall College of Art and Design and a M.F.A at Studio Art Centers International, Florence Italy. My work is developed inside the studio and has become an extension of myself. The work comes from material that is found or made in the studio. It’s an accumulation of objects made of elements that focuses on creating and integrating different elements together. I believe that material is what supports society, creating foundations for communities to live in. This is what I continue to search for and explore for; structures made of material to support my work so that every object can become part of a grouping to form one body, a community. The work is material composed of other smaller forms, which together form a larger composition. Supporting structures encase objects made of objects, which are studio refuse that include books, clay, ceramics, paintings, pieces of wood, sketches and stones.
