This is me, I love 3d photography, and have you ever managed to see a cross eye 3D photo?

The Single Finger Method

You'll need to aim your eyes in front of the 3D image. You'll use your finger to help you figure out where to aim your eyes.

Bring your forefinger up about six inches in front of your nose. Focus both your eyes on it.
While focusing on your finger, notice what has happened to the pictures on the screen. You should see four pictures. Keep focusing on your finger, but at the same time observe the four pictures on the screen.
Move your finger slowly toward the screen (still focusing on it!) until you see the two middle pics slide together and merge into one picture. The combined picture is composed of two pics. There you have your effect 3D.
You are using your finger to help you. Make a subtle shift of your attention from your finger to the picture when you find the right focal point. Get your finger down and out of the way once you get the combined 3D picture.

Witajcie, Steemianie, to ja. Bardzo lubię fotografię 3D, czy udało Ci się zobaczyć trójwymiarową fotografię w formacie na tzw. zeza, czyli Cross Eye view?

Metoda pojedynczego palca

Musisz skierować swoje oczy przed zdjęcie 3D. Użyjesz palca, aby pomóc zorientować się, gdzie kierować wzrok.

Podnieś palec wskazujący około 10-15 cm przed nosem. Skoncentruj na nim swój wzrok.
Skupiając się na swoim palcu, zauważ, co stało się ze zdjęciami na ekranie. Powinieneś zobaczyć cztery zdjęcia. Skup się na palcu, ale jednocześnie obserwuj cztery zdjęcia na ekranie.
Powoli przesuwaj palec w stronę ekranu (nadal skupiając się na nim!), aż zobaczysz, że dwa środkowe zdjęcia przesuwają się i łączą w jeden obraz. Połączony obraz składa się z dwóch zdjęć. Oto efekt 3D.
Używasz palca, by sobie pomóc. Dokonaj subtelnego przesunięcia swojej uwagi z palca na zdjęcie, gdy znajdziesz właściwy punkt skupienia. Po uzyskaniu połączonego zdjęcia 3D odsuń palec z pola widzenia.

Hi! I was browsing and stopped when I saw the stereo pair of you. I also love 3D photography and have taken a number of pictures over the last few decades using many different techniques. I have an old Nishika camera on the shelf just behind me which made nice lenticulars while they were still in business but still takes good stereo pairs (actually 4 shots across) on 35mm film and have a few holograms I've made also but quite a few made with a regular camera also just by taking two shots a couple of inches apart. I spent a lot of time working on Integral Photography back in the mid and late 1980's and even have a patent on a method to improve it. If you are interested I have a reprint of a paper on "Integral MicroOptics" (my name for the technololgy) with photos and animated gif's showing work from that time here. I'll have to look at my archive and post some of my favorite stereo pairs for all to enjoy on SteepShot.

My, thank you very much for your fantastic comment. I will be very happy to be able to see your 3-D pictures and follow your art. I certainly have to get familiar with the subject of integral photography. I had been also doing classic photography first 6x6cm then 35mm then 8mm/Super8 🎥, I’m getting some gear back together to reopen my home garage lab like developing tank for 35mm and another Super8 dev tank. I’m thinking also about printing my diy lenticulars, but still don’t know where to order the lenticular sheets. Anyway, thank you for contact, I will gladly follow your posts.

I just posted a "cross-eyed" 3D stereo pair of a sunset across the yard called "Long Sunset." You should be able to find it under #3D or #stereo or #stereopair. It is actually a .jps file so if you download it and rename it with a ".jps" file extension, you can open it with 3D file viewing software with 3D glasses if you have them (I had some but they don't work with modern operating systems, unfortunately.) I mostly look cross-eyed at my old stereo photos. I shot it with a regular camera by taking a shot and moving the tripod over a bit for the second one.

Last summer I found some old rolls of undeveloped film that had been in storage since the 1970's and 1980's, mostly 35mm but a couple of 620 and 120 rolls and a couple of Instamatic cartridges. I bought a plastic developing tank and some chemicals to see what was there. Unfortunately most of the film had badly deteriorated but there were a few partial frames that brought back some memories. I still had almost 100 feet of Tri-X from the 1980's sitting around and my old Minolta 35mm SLR was still functional although the battery for the light meter was dead and no longer available. I put around 15 frames into an old 35mm film cartridge and went out and shot it guessing the exposure. When I developed it I was pleasantly surprised to find that the film was still good! Since I no longer have an enlarger nor trays I scanned the negatives into the computer. It was interesting to see the difference between the real film and digital of the same subjects! I'll have to roll up some more and have some fun, maybe even buy some 4x5 sheet film and fire up the old Graflex!

I'll check and see if any of my old sources for lenticular sheets are still around. Those companies usually didn't last very long but if I find any I'll let you know.
