Hey, everyone. I'm Michelle. Or Mickey. Or Eliza. It all depends on how you know me. ;) 

Author

See, I'm an author. Or a writer. Whatever you want to call it. Basically, I self-publish books on Amazon to make a living. Currently, I'm not making a living, but I'm hoping to implement the things I've learned about marketing and promotion in 2018 to earn a living. A comfortable living. I'm giving it my all, so we'll see how it goes--probably together! But you can find my books on Amazon. Fiction is here and journals are here. If you're in other countries besides the US, my books should come up under Mickey Reed and Eliza Boyd on Amazon.  

Life

I'm married to an incredibly supportive man. We're been together for nearly 10 years now, married for almost 5. We have a plethora of animals. Right now, 2 dogs, 1 cat, 2 tortoises, and 1 snake live with us. 

I also have 3 beautiful, amazing stepchildren. My husband and I live in sunny Arizona, and we've been here for over 9 years. We visited Denver in the summer and didn't want to leave, but it's so cold there in the winter that I don't think we'll end up moving there anymore. Haha. Maybe! We'll see. 

Vegan

Some people cringe when they hear this, but I embrace the word wholeheartedly. I'm 32 now, but I went vegan right before I turned 28. So I haven't always been vegan, but it's a huge part of my identity now. I believe in and practice Ahimsa (nonviolence), and that extends to all living creatures. Being vegan to me isn't about being pushy. It's about sharing knowledge. I love chatting with people about it--their reasons for not being vegan, how they can transition easily in their own lives, and how to debunk all of the popular beliefs against veganism. My conversations are nonjudgmental, but they can often contain some tough love and hard truths. Basically, I love to share my food with everyone, which is likely what I'll do here. Because I'm looking forward to using Steemit to learn and create useful content!
