Who am I? Never thought life will shape my future in such a beautiful way

A few years ago, when I was reading an article about personal development I found an interesting question which caught my attention: Who are you?

I've grabbed a piece of paper and a pen and I wrote this:
" I am Emanuel, I'm 25 years old and I am a software engineer. I like music and a love to travel."

In that moment I realized that my life is just going to work and spending my time watching on movies or playing games on computer. Never thought about the importance of my development until that moment.

So I decided to take some actions. I've become a member of Toastmasters Club because I wanted to face one of my biggest fears: public speaking. This was the step which threw me into a different world where I discovered new people and new opportunities.

I went to a lot of networking events and created a lot of connections. I've started to read personal development books and attended to entrepreneurial courses. I absorbed a lot from books, people and mentors. I was fascinated about learning new things and growing so fast. But the future wasn't like I imagined.

I quit my job and started on my own as android software engineer. I had a lot of ideas in my head of how I could create amazing projects and become financial free. I wrote a lot of pages with plans and lists but I wasn't able to manage them. I was so excited about every single idea and I gave up every time I talked about my plans with my friends. My dream was to become a millionaire and to travel every single day. But ... none of these happened.

In the past two years I changed a lot. I've became a different person. I never thought life will shape my future in such a beautiful way. I got married and I realized the importance of having a family. I forgot about millions of dollars and now I am focusing on spending my time with my wife which is the greatest miracle ever happened to me.

I'm 27 years and I realized the best fulfillment in life is not having money and properties but having something to give to others.

I think the key to happiness and success in life is giving value to the world without expecting something in return.

This is my first post and I am so excited to be here on Steemit. :)

Welcome to steemit, Emanuel!

Nicely written. That's a great point about fulfillment in life is not about having all the material things in abundance, but rather being a position to have enough in order to give to others. I also think another, more abstract idea, is the concept of contentedness. Learning to be content (while still striving to be better always, of course) leads to such peace of mind in life as well.

Thanks for sharing.

Best of luck to you on your journey here on steemit!

Thank you @ckcrypto :) We will always have enough to give to the others. And I am not referring to the material things.

When I arrived on Steemit a few weeks ago I was very confused how this all works. I read through hundreds of articles about the dynamics of Steemit and finally wrote this The Ultimate Guide for Steemit Beginners: Money, Posts, Design, Topics, Bots, Behaviour, Community and Apps. I wrote it for YOU. Normally I wouldn't post my links into others comments unasked. But the massive positive feedback from my readers made it my mission to help newcomers finding this post quickly. Feel free to ask any questions. I will try to answer them all. I apologize if you are not interested in this and I will not further disturb you.

Welcome @emanuel.tanasa! I enjoyed your post. I see a lot of similarities between my life and yours! I also noticed you have a great quote on your profile, "Every morning you have two choices: Continue to sleep with your dreams. Or wake up and go chase them." I really like that and I think that I should and will apply that to my life starting today! I just shot you a follow to keep updated on future posts!
