Introduce Yourself : Dominic Reyes Professional Magician, Inventor, and Magic Dealer

I'm Dominic Reyes, a full time professional magician and member of The Magic Circle, based in the UK. I teach, write, and lecture on sleight of hand, misdirection and practice techniques to magicians, as well as owning The Merchant of Magic which is the UK's largest magic shop.

Over the years being a magic dealer I've seen so many magicians start learning magic as a hobby, then give up after a few months because it's harder than they think. That's a pity because it's not hard if you know how to approach learning the techniques, and practice.

The Real Magic Secret

I think that the real secret to becoming a magician is to understand how to practice correctly, and how to start performing for the public rather than just practicing tricks by yourself that one body gets to see. My posts are aimed at helping beginners to start learning, and to get magicians to take the next step and start performing!



I also post teaching videos and articles on the @merchantofmagic page on Steemit, together with my fellow magicians at the magic shop. This page under my name will have more of the same, but also my own personal experiences and adventures performing magic all over the world.

Why I Do It

Take a look at the photo below. In this magic trick, four chinese coins on my hand jump, vanish, and appear.. There's a little girl at the bottom of the photo that thinks she could spot something if she doesn't blink, so she's holding her eyes open wide…. What else in life gives people a sense of wonder like magic…. I truly love my job and feel blessed that I can support my family through my passion for magic.



I'll also cover what it's like running a large magic shop that supplies magic to magicians all over the world.. There's some interesting stuff behind the curtain at the magic shop...
