They grow to love and care for us whole-heartedly, but sometimes we wonder if they have ulterior motives.
They love us for who we are.

However, that's not the only reason why they love us. They know that if they behave and treat us with loyalty, that they'll eventually receive those oh so tasty treats.

Meet Pituco!

He may have come up with the most brilliant idea yet on how to cut out the middle man (his owner). With Pituco's ways, he no longer has to wait around on a human.

Some canine companions can be so clever and capable.

The smart dog resides in the little town of Paraí, Brazil.

Here, he's created and followed a rather genius routine.

As if him coming up with the idea wasn't impressive enough, it's the fact that he actually follows through with the routine that shocks us.
Pituco independently walks from home to a nearby veterinary clinic.

The clinic is called Agro Pet and is located less than half a mile away from Pituco's home. In addition to its medical services, the clinic provides a supply and pet food shop.

This is where the clever pup goes to retrieve his tasty bag of treats.

He picks up the bag from the store and then proceeds to carry it in his mouth all the way back home. He's been a regular there for over nine years now.

However, it's not as easy as he makes it look.

Although Pituco may think he's getting these treats for free, there's actually a catch.
Pituco doesn't necessarily get charged each time he retrieves his bag of treats, the store actually keeps a tab of everything he grabs.

Pituco's human family comes to pay off the tab every so often.

“Everybody knows Pituco," said the veterinarian at Agro Pet.

"His food is on the top shelf, so we have to hand it to him. He barks until we do.” Sounds like we've got a little feisty fella here.

Although it sounds like Pituco only does this for himself, he's actually a lot more selfless than you might think.

Yes, he primarily makes these visits for the purpose of retrieving treats for himself, but his bag of treats isn't the only food he'll return home with.

When the family is in need of food for the other pets in the household, they'll call the pet shop ahead of time.

They'll ask the shop for cat food and birdseed, all of which Pituco happily takes with him back home whenever it's handed to him instead of his daily treats.
