Greetings all,

My name is Denver and I live in Hilo Hawaii. My friend told me about this service a few weeks ago and now that I'm finally trying to learn about the crypto in more detail I figured I should sign up for this service as well. I may have missed the boat to get rich off crypto but that doesn't mean it can't help me bring income. In 2010 my friend told my about bitcoin and I thought it sounded neat and then forgot about it. I used to drink a lot and memory wasn't something that stayed with me if I didn't write it down. The last few years have been a "first world struggle" for me and while I know I have it easy in many ways when you do everything on your own and no one is there to finance you when you fuck up, the lessons need to be learned the first time.

Around the time I should have been investing in this stuff, I lost my job. This was the the first time my company had let me go after 14 years of service; it was my first job and they basically took the place of my parents to pay for my life. That was in Honolulu about 3.5 years ago and I had just stopped drinking and was eating healthy and had just started yoga and riding my bike. Life changed for me during this time, I started seeing the world for what it was and not what I was led to believe it should be. I realized that I needed to learn how to care for myself before I could care about anything else. It was one of those LIFE moments.

Three years later and its today, I sit here thinking that a year a ago my buddy told me bitcoin was going to be at 10k in one year. I told him I would buy one coin that was around $1,000 at the time and ethereum was maybe around $40 and I had told my other buddy it was too expensive to buy. Now I'm the idiot. In life we need to learn to acknowledge when we are ignorant of certain things and I was really wrong to ignore the pending crypto boom. Still I feel we are in the early stages, people who know much more than I do make me believe my opinion is correct. Buying btc is not a bad idea, and while its a risk the upside is yet to still be determined. Reading about the idea of ethereum made me a believer I think but also that feeling I had when playing rpgs and they gave me an option to mine anything, I would. Now I am going to see if there is any point to actually mining.

Last thing I wanted to say is that I love cannabis and am always looking at ways this plant can help medicinally. I have found a love to grow things and juice things. I'm not a vegetarian but the food is amazing. I enjoy doing yoga, shooting guns, and being outside in nature. I just want to live free and not feel like someone is controlling me at all times, I want everyone to feel comfortable sharing their opinions without being berated by some asshole. I have come to the understanding that its our differences that make us unique, we just have to talk about them and understand eachother.

I don't know where I'm going with this post because I just ramble. I will explore the site and try and contribute, decentralizing the world is a good thing. It just seems like blockchains are going to be taking over. Maybe I will end up on one of your pages.

Until then I will be living it up out here and taking care of my farm and crew of 4 dogs, 3 cats, 2 sheep, 2 bunnies and more to come. Working on kids still.

I'm just a simple country kind of person these days. Simplicity makes life work, I gave up on life in the city and am just happy to have a place to live and food to eat. If you have ever been to Hilo you will understand how slow my life has become. Aloha.

Aloha!! I think that you live in a worderful place! Hawaii is cool ☺

Make sure to come visit the islands again!

It's not too late to get rich off SBD. Our time has just begun. There's other cryptos out there too. I first heard about BTC in 2012 and bought maybe 0.1 at the most.

welcome! Nice to meet you.

Hi Denver, welcome! Don’t worry about being ltoo late...BTC is still probably in its infancy. I got in around 3500 look at it now (less than 180 days later). Share your love for Hemp! The plant has such huge potential...

Thanks, I still can't help kicking myself in the ass. But I agree we are still in the early stages. I can't say enough about hemp and what it can do. I also never forget about the wonders of cannabis as well. :)

Hi
Welcome.
I'm a fellow rambler. The subjects you mentioned have a following here.
Sometimes using a popular but most importantly relevant tag can be helpful.
Might I suggest when you do your farming posts you utilise #homesteading.
When you post about yoga, Exercise etc if it is relevant use #health. The first tag listed is the one that will be visible in the feed before opening. The popular tags are listed on the right under explore. But don't just use the most popular tags if they are not relevant, it is very much frowned upon. And by all means invent a new trend in a fabulous tag too or like me throw in a string of words now and then just for the hell of it.
Have fun.
I'm following for more beautiful Hawaii posts. It is on the top of our bucket list, to cruise to Hawaii from Australia one day.

Thanks for the insight and I will do that. I totally get your point about tagging something popular and then not having it in the topic. I don't care if my posts are not read, to me it just feels good to write. :) If I may suggest flying from Aus as it will give you more time on the islands. I work on every island so feel free to ping me for anything. Aloha!

Hi, and welcome to steemit. 😀 Interesting post and introduction. You will find quite a few homesteaders on here to exchange ideas with.

Cannabis....another great subject with many contributers, and loads of tips.

I don't think it is too late with cryptocurrency, it's still in it's infancy, and you really need to invest. However, for the meantime Steem is one way.

Viva is a great way to invest. Read about it: https://www.tradeqwik.com/
There are quite a few steemians who have joined. Any questions at all about Vivaconomy or cryptocurrency in general are welcomed by the team at Tradeqwik.
@rickyjrx wrote a post about this which includes links if you are interested. https://steemit.com/crypto/@rickyjrx/vivaconomy-and-tradeqwik-the-most-promising-investment-in-crypto

Anyways, I look forward to more posts from you, have fun., and steem on.

Thanks for the reply, its great to hear about homesteading on here. Its a lot of work but I really am learning how to live. Pluming sucks though but I love growing things and working around the yard.

A few of my best friends have been doing the crypto stuff a lot over the last few years but I will always read more info about it. Do you ever do any mining?

I did try mining for a while just out of curiosity, but it really isn't worth it with only my laptop and my rubbish broadband. One really needs quite a few laptops set up for mining 24/7 to make anything decent.
I live in an isolated area in Ireland, and my WiFi is affected by weather etc...they are rolling out cables for better broadband here in the rural areas, but it won't be fully set up for a while.
I am hoping to move to a place with better land and coverage within the next year or two when hopefully my crypto will pay for it. 😀 I too learned about bitcoin way back when it all started, but stupidly didn't buy in when it was still around $30...... I thought I would wait and see what this virtual money was about. After I bought this place which needed a lot of work I forgot about it for a while. And now......well too late for that, but I do have a few investments, and when I saw the Viva Whitepaper I was impressed. It too is only still at the beta stage, but I do believe that it will grow exponentially.
I won't pretend that I fully understand everything about crypto, and there are many currencies that fail, or are even ponzi schemes. Up to now I have been lucky with my choices and am slowly building up a portfolio. Blockchain and crypto are the future. The Fiat bubble will burst.

I totally know the feeling. I got good internet at least here but also owning a home takes all the extra money one has. I think that some of us will find the right one to invest in and still can make a little extra here and there. I am sure I know how that must be, when we go to our family cottage in Wales its freaking stupid how isolated I felt. Amazing views but had to go to the pub for the toilet.

I'm gonna try to setup a few PCs to mine, ETH is hard because you really need a decent PC. Mining xmr at home and w/ a hash rate of 210h/s that will make $350 a year. But if I can install it on 200 computers then that might make some money. HAHA. If I can get geth to sync on my PC I'm good. I also don't know much but thats why these kinds of communities are so neat to me. You are off in Ireland and I'm here in Hilo and we are talking about things that actually benefit us. I will never know how full of shit I am if I don't learn from others. Its nuts to me that all the servers could be decentralized some day. Have a great day. Aloha!
