Hello all, just wanted to get started by introducing myself. My name is Doug and I'm very excited to be part of the Steemit community. I'm a tech nerd that is always looking for new and rewarding avenues to learn and stay in the know.
About myself:
Some cool things about me, I'm a father of 3 children and I have an amazing wife who is always super supportive of my crazy hobbies and goals. I went from working in a warehouse to landing an entry level Network Engineering job in a year thanks to the support of my family and some top notch teachers along the way. The journey developed my love of technology and the desire to always learn and never stop.
My hobbies and likes:
As of late crypto currency has become an interest of mine as well. The technology behind blockchain and other systems like Smart Contracts and even tech such as Tangle has really driven me lately to stay up on and thrive in this area. If not doing tech stuff I love the outdoors so taking the family to trails and parks helps us unwind and have some fun!
I'm also a big fan of Sci-Fi films (who would have guessed a tech guy and Sci-Fi) and other things like a huge Harry Potter series fan as well. In my 30's, I find it beneficial with kids that I still dig some of the cartoons they watch which gives us some fun things to enjoy together.

What I'm hoping to find in the community:
The Steemit scene seems like a cool place with supportive people all sharing some genuinely unique and interesting content so I'm hoping to fit into this space. Looking forward to supporting and being supported by the community.

Well i just suggest after your intro work on building your followers, welcome to new members, join steemit chat, comment on good post. After 1 week just post 1 or 2 blog or pictures in a day if you can. Dont make it to long as to bore your audience, always start with an eye catching photo and title. And dont be discouraged if you only got 11 cents on a very good post as when you have more followers when you get noticed
Excellent advice, so the key seems to be consistently putting on not necessarily lengthy but good content and building that networking up with others. Thanks for taking the time to help out I appreciate it
