Time for a proper introduction and bit about myself.
Hi fellow Steemers,
I have been playing around with Steemit for a couple of days now and find it a very friendly and welcoming place. Its incredible how personal and open this platform seems to be. Its got a different feel to facebook in areas, more pen pal like. So I've come to realise that its wouldn't be a bad thing to share a little bit more about myself. I have some interesting stories about travel, music, skateboarding and friends that Id like to share when I get a chance over the next few weeks.
Firstly my name is Mick and Im a vintage lighting and furniture dealer and a very keen cryptocurrency trader. Im 43 and live in Newcastle Australia. Below is a picture of myself and my beautiful wife Shanthi.
Ive been into crypto since 2013 and although have a great crew of friends in Newie I dont have others that I can share my crypto interest with, so if there are any Novocastrians out there on Steemit with the same interests, maybe we should hit the local for a beer and chat.
Shanthi and I have interesting tastes (some think just damn weird) in decor and collectables. We managed to find a special house 3 years back that was renovated by a Sicilian artist in the 60's. Featuring 2 indoor fountains a wild bore over the fireplace and more columns than the coliseum. This place is so bad its good. Awesome party house.
Great house to have Christmas in.
Our pig Eddie supervising renovations.
I run my business 20cc- 20th Century Collectable ( www.20cc.com.au ) from my home in Newcastle and if there are any fans of quality modernist furniture and lighting out there please drop in for a chat and see what I have to offer.
Anyway trying not to be too spammy on this post, just want to introduce myself to the community.
Something I'd like to share...
I have a great story about a friend "Magpie" who has created a music festival called "The Gum Ball" which is becoming legendary in these parts . I have been getting involved in the festival with a skateboard halfpipe that I built 28 years ago on a farm nearby. We recently refurbished the ramp and put it on the festival grounds and now have a great crew of professional skaters coming along for the 3 day music festival. The legend of the ramp lives on. Its amazing how much passion can come from just a structure. Id like to share many stories on the ramp and the Gumball in future posts. Ill attach below a quick youtube clip my good mate Jo filmed of us fixing the ramp for the festival.
